I agree with Sirotan, overall I think it looks really nice, the grain isn't my personal preference either but overall I think it will look good, and I'm personally jealous of anyone who has frameless cabinets. what material is holding the pendants? is that brass? Is the entire wall behind the sink supposed to be tiled? I've never really seen that before.

They had one other darker wood colour that's new this year that I liked as well, however you have to put handles on them. For whatever reason I want hardware-less cleanliness so opted for this. Also most of my drawers sorta line up, (3 drawers), if some and 2 and some had 5 or whatever it would look way worse for the pattern. Yeah so pendants are just in the image. They didn't clue me in other than what the photo looks like, they're not from ikea. Closest I've found so far is: https://www.wayfair.com/lighting/pdp/wrought-studio-astle-1-light-single-cone-pendant-ohrl1074.html And yeah she drew entire wall of backsplash which seems like a bit much to me, which is why I'll wait to do any of that until the rest is done. falz fucked around with this message at 19:22 on Dec 7, 2020 |

I've ever seen a cord like that where it's not straight, that is weird. For the hay ones the small is 9" diam, the medium is 14". The ikea one is 11" so I think the small hay one would work fine, and the price is similar. Hay is a Danish company that was recently bought by Herman Miller, and their prices are definitely lower than other DWR stuff. Either the cream white or black would work well in that space I think - having a black cord is nice to contrast with all the white. more expensive option, but similar shape, and 12" diameter for the small size - https://www.dwr.com/lighting-ceiling/semi-pendant-lamp/2297.html?lang=en_US I think the black one would look kind of cool. Depends if you like the curvature - staged pic attached at the bottom of my post another hay one, but it only comes in one color - https://www.dwr.com/lighting-ceiling/30-degrees-pendant/2514642.html?lang=en_US expensive and a completely different style, but no harm in looking at it - https://www.dwr.com/lighting-ceiling/ic-pendant/1415.html?lang=en_US

I'm in the process of fixing up my stairway, and I'm getting close to being ready to paint. Initially my plan was to just go with a basic paint job, but I've been thinking about other options. I'm really drawn to adding different textures to spaces. To that end, I've been considering what reasonable choices are available to me. Here's the stairwell as it stands today: Here are a few examples of things that have caught my eye. Not necessarily for the staircase, but to illustrate what I'm drawn to: I really like stuff like the first two examples, but I'm not sure how they would look when my window frames and baseboard is so bold. Instead, I've been thinking about doing paint on all of the stairway walls except for the one with the handrail, and instead putting a textured/fabric wallpaper on that surface, similar to the sixth photo. What do you guys think of something like that? Are there other ideas I haven't considered? I'm definitely open to suggestions here.

I feel like those features are really meant for accent walls in bigger spaces. Also your traditional stairs, carpet runner and railing makes me feel like anything too modern or contemporary is going to clash. My thought would be to put up some geometric prints, maybe even something like this

I found two that I liked the look of on Aliexpress of all places, but there's no way that store came up with the original design(s). Does anyone recognize the original designer(s) of these chairs? Image searching Google for visually similar stuff didn't track down anything other than tons of other knockoffs or completely different things (the first image just turned up loads of crappy folding camping chairs ) EDIT: two hours of further Googling more and more weird keywords, I found the first one! https://slh.com.au/products/loop-dining-chair-blk-walnut-telegrey?variant=32985392513123 The keywords that did the trick were "wire chair legs hairpin style curved" and it returned the Marmo Loop Dining Chair as the first image search result. Good morning. I need some help with people that are better at decor than I am. Long story short, we have a room (I guess it would technically be an office) in my house that we had used as a kids playroom. As they are older now and don't use it anymore, I'm currently building a bar in it. I've got various bar posters and such that I'm going to be putting up, but I'm not sure what to do color wise on the walls and also the rug. Here's pictures. The bar itself. I'm working on the doors, they will just be oak as well. Eventually I want to have that window turned into a bay window. There will be oak shelves on the left and right of the window to put glasses and bottles on. More of the room. Please ignore the construction/mess. For the purposes of recommending finishes you can assume that will be cleaned up. The wall color of the room through the double doors, also some more of the room. The wall with the cork board is where I plan on hanging the guitars (see below) The wall color leading into the room. Comments: I don't want to paint the doors nor the trim, I like the white and the oak. The double doors are usually open. My only real plan for furniture is to put a high top in there with 2 chairs. The shelving unit thing can stay or go I don't give a poo poo and the table is gone. My idea for the wall with the single door is to hang my guitars and have my amp and the keyboard we have against that wall (basically it's a music/bar room). No wallpaper. I'm figuring on an area rug in the middle of the room, color and pattern are up for grabs. Any ideas/thoughts? AFewBricksShy fucked around with this message at 19:26 on Dec 10, 2020 |

@AFewBricksShy: if you want a real "bar feel" the walls should be darker, brown or dark green or red, with window treatments to match. Decor would depend on the specific aesthetic that you are going for. If you want the usual Man Cave then neon signs and old ads on the walls, miscellaneous tchotchkes, vintage 70s-style furniture and pretty much any rug(s) will do. If you're going for a classy rich guy look a large rug that's a neutral cream or matching the walls, plus art prints and glass doors on the shelves to show off your fanciest liquor bottles. Alternatively, if you have a lot of band posters and music paraphrenalia that can go on the walls you could make that the theme, still with darker paint but some brighter color here and there with the furniture and rugs. For me personally if I were creating a bar room I would just go full 1970s basement, orange carpet and wood paneling and the ugliest couches I can find. Maybe it's from memories of my grandparents' house but I just love that whole vibe. Azza Bamboo posted:Their idea of fascinating seems to mainly be some wooden poo poo. if you don't find a Gilded Age millionaire building a Arts and Crafts-meets-Moroccan gymnasium in Minnesota to be at least somewhat interesting I don't know what to tell you.
