Against the truck:
  • drove over a solid white line

Against the cyclist (assuming he's on a freeway):
  • not properly indicating a right lane change (unless cyclists are allowed different hand signals than drivers use)
  • Not maintaining minimum speed
  • Cyclists and pedestrians not allowed on freeway
  • possibly failure the yield but that lane didn't technically exist until a few feet ago so probably not

They've each got at least one serious mark against them that caused the accident. At least neither was a Tesla.

Why are they riding on what appears to be a toll road? Also your dreaming if you think most people understand what hand signals mean.

I'm not saying they will ignore it I'm saying they won't know what it means. Also he did signal just not using the normal right turn signal.

:psyduck: Why wouldn't the handsignal be in the direction you're going? If you go right you indicate right, if you go left you indicate left.

Because you have to keep your hand on the throttle.

In a car, the driver's hand sticks out that window

Many reasons.

Well in the case of a motorcycle taking your hand off a throttle and also not covering your front brake is a bad idea. Also I believe this is sort a hold over from hand signaling in cars. Which obviously you can't indicate a right turn from the left hand side of the car by using your right arm.

The lane to the right was an exit lane, they were going straight. So I'm not sure what lane you think they were changing into and were supposed to signal. They were crossing the offramp and moved into the straight ahead lane to do so. There are many controlled access highways where you can ride a bike, so that throws your other three points out the window too. Seems like the serious mark there is the loving TRUCK DRIVER WHO HIT HIM.

Riding on a controlled access highway like that does at first impression seem like a terrible idea but they have huge wide shoulders and it's not that bad. Two lane highways with no shoulder can be a lot worse. I ride on the interstate sometimes, and it's allowed. Not really by choice though- it's just literally the only way to get through some places around here.

There are lots of roads like that here in texas as well. But the closing speeds give me chills. Since a lot of those roads have speed limits of like 70 mph.

The cyclist in the video has weak arm extension, but signalling a right turn with the right arm extended is allowed.

If anything he indicated a stop using the wrong hand. Just because hand signals and parallel parking are both things most people just accept they'll lose points on when they take their driving test doesn't mean you shouldn't at least try.

They were in a lane. The lane to the right ended and a new one started. The cyclist then crossed a dashed line to move into this new lane without signaling properly or looking behind them to see if anyone was coming (understandable due to the lane just starting). Unfortunately this did not work out for him because a semi truck was busy blowing the lane divider for the off-ramp he was on (possibly because he was impatient and wanted to illegally duck around a slower moving bit of traffic).

It’s worth checking not just for dickheads passing illegally, but also because emergency vehicles can use the breakdown lane.

I think they do have nail guns that still use the head because they need that for some reason to seal the shingles or w/e.

Also not an expert.

I stole the photos from a roofer who uses a nail gun, and claimed this particular one was also from a nail gun.
[/quote]

It's a galvanized ring shank designed to be shot from a gun, if he's a roofer he was probably installing sheathing (the layer of plywood under the shingles) since that's within a rover's purview, and that is 100% not a roofing nail, which are shorter, and have a much broader head to hold the soft shingles in place. It is not copper, that discoloration is epoxy designed to hold the nail in place better (galvanized and epoxy coated nails are a complete bitch to pull).

Also, almost all nails have heads, regardless of if they're shot from a gun or not, the one exception I can think of is finish nails, although those have a tiny vestigial head stil, it's in the dictionary definition:

That's bs, the water does tend to leach salt from you, since it's an extremely low salinity because it has to serve reactor and steam plant services too after a little more salinity. A completely moot point since you're eating canned food, so you have the salt to spare.

It's probably people dumping cleaning water and other poo poo they're not supposed to down the head.

Tire cages aren't really needed for one piece wheels, so it's redundant anyhow. I can only think of one instance when I worked in truck shops where someone didn't use a cage on a split rim, and the ring wound up in the roof.

I saw a ring gently caress up a tire cage pretty nicely in the army, but the army is an entire osha thread to itself.
