When I was dailying an 86 Crown Vic back in 2014, I found I could park loving anywhere. It was smaller than half the cars in an average California parking lot. I could park next to the guy who hosed up and was hanging into my stall. Parallel parking? loving breeze. Sitting next to a modern SUV, it looked tiny--poo poo, it looked small next to a Camry.

Really? Because my 2005 Crown Vic is 212" (17' 8") feet long and over 6' wide, and the frame for an '86 is essentially the same. The newest Camry is smaller in every dimension. It's shorter by almost 2 feet.

That said, modern pickups and SUVs definitely eclipse it.

I park my little 2-door econobox on the street between a full-size Lexus SUV and an F-250, and I literally cannot see my car until I'm about 30 feet away. My car is so much smaller and narrower that from down the road it just looks like there's an empty space between the other two. Periodically I forget about this phenomenon and panic that my car's been stolen.

Same with my wife's Spectra5, or, when it was drivable, my tiny little first-gen RX-7 (14' long, but, like belly high - 4'.)

Nah, you're right. I was thinking of my wife's 2012 Camry, which is 189 inches long. The Crown Vic is 6 inches wider, but an inch or two shorter than that Camry.

The shape of the C.V., plus the slightly lower original height (and maybe add a little more sag for old busted suspension) probably just fooled my brain into thinking it was smaller.

One is a 'fullsize' while the other is a 'compact'. Double cab or not, one would naturally be larger than the other. The small one is probably a 2wd while the big one is probably a fore-ex-fore. Which typically adds height with tire and suspension upgrades.

A more valid comparison would probably be an f150 crewcab of the same vintage as the Toyota to see how much difference there is. Or just for the hell of it, an f350 of that vintage vs the modern f150.

My experience is mostly with B-body caprices, but I always found them remarkably maneuverable given their size. They had relatively short wheelbases compared to their overall size, and hilariously overboosted power steering with no CV joints to limit steering angle.

The Vic's steering was also boosted to hell, the ride was soft, and although that Windsor was shockingly underpowered the AOD wasn't afraid to kick down a gear. I enjoyed doing donuts in the gravel parking lot at work and just loving flooring it around town because the engine wasn't loud enough to cause any fuss when I did. It was also extremely fun on a curvy road. I'd absolutely own one again if I had a place for it; since I work from home, the 16 mpg wouldn't be quite as painful.

The girl he was seeing when he died he started dating when she was 16 and he was 33. Before her he dated another 16yr old when he was 28. Dude gets a lot of love because he was in some films and liked cars but dude definitely had a thing for underage girls. "he liked to keep his life private" yeah no poo poo.

There's a bunch of articles on the subject if you want to have a dig but they're all obviously similar.

You know, even if you unironically love the FF franchise, Paul Walker was probably the last reason. Half the appeal oF FF is that it's like the sole AAA franchise out of Hollywood that actually has a mostly non-white cast.

My two best friends have ended up in similar large family situations because of divorce and remarriage. Both are amazing dads but are definitely super stressed daily and back when we could actually visit i would feel a little guilty about leaving them at the mercy of their hordes.

Paul was obviously the audience surrogate and just came across likable enough. I knew nothing about him outside the movies so it was just said someone pretty young died in a fiery crash.

drat right about Han though :respek:

For some personal terrible car stuff, I just received like 8 parking fines in the last few days.
