That said, modern pickups and SUVs definitely eclipse it. My car is so much smaller and narrower that from down the road it just looks like there's an empty space between the other two. Periodically I forget about this phenomenon and panic that my car's been stolen. Same with my wife's Spectra5, or, when it was drivable, my tiny little first-gen RX-7 (14' long, but, like belly high - 4'.)

The shape of the C.V., plus the slightly lower original height (and maybe add a little more sag for old busted suspension) probably just fooled my brain into thinking it was smaller.

Double cab or not, one would naturally be larger than the other. The small one is probably a 2wd while the big one is probably a fore-ex-fore. Which typically adds height with tire and suspension upgrades. A more valid comparison would probably be an f150 crewcab of the same vintage as the Toyota to see how much difference there is. Or just for the hell of it, an f350 of that vintage vs the modern f150. wesleywillis fucked around with this message at 00:32 on Dec 15, 2020 |

The Vic's steering was also boosted to hell, the ride was soft, and although that Windsor was shockingly underpowered the AOD wasn't afraid to kick down a gear. I enjoyed doing donuts in the gravel parking lot at work and just loving flooring it around town because the engine wasn't loud enough to cause any fuss when I did. It was also extremely fun on a curvy road. I'd absolutely own one again if I had a place for it; since I work from home, the 16 mpg wouldn't be quite as painful.

You know, even if you unironically love the FF franchise, Paul Walker was probably the last reason. Half the appeal oF FF is that it's like the sole AAA franchise out of Hollywood that actually has a mostly non-white cast.
