We fetishize the military in the same way we fetishize cops (and to a lesser extent all first responders.) Not that these people don't deserve respect for standing in harm's way, above and beyond and all that, but it often goes beyond that to can do no wrong territory. And yet, at the same time, we pay a lot of them poo poo, and provide them no resources or assistance after their service. Sometimes during. It's pretty much right up there with the typical Right "hopes and prayers (but no money, or a finger lifted.)"

Over the following weeks, the Project M111 team worked long hours to build the car and get it running by Christmas Eve. At 6pm, when everyone should have been at home with their families, there were still about 50 items that needed to be done to do to get the car running. It seemed like an impossible task, but the question was posed amongst the team – was there anything that couldn’t be completed by midnight? There wasn’t, so the team pushed on.

Weirdly, you can still buy one from a dealer. Which is mental because I’ve seen used cars at overs!

“Yes, according to autoblog.com — which has made something of a study of LFA sales over the years — there are still a few absolutely pristine, zero mile, fire-breathing Lexi still up for grabs. Yes, never been registered, still in dealer hands and looking for owners LFAs. When the news first broke in 2017, there were some 12 LFAs still left on lots — okay, probably in some hermetically-sealed, securely-guarded vaults — still waiting to be sold. Since then, seven more have been sold — 2019 was a banner year with three LFAs reported on Lexus’s annual sales report — but there are, says autoblog, still five left trying to find new homes. And again, these are not demos or low-mile trailer queens, but completely new, zero-mile new cars.”

Does anyone know any dealers locally with them in??? Would be cool to see how they’re specced!

I've only seen 2 in person, 1 parked at RK Motors as part of the owner's private collection along with an F40, F50 etc. The owner Robert Kauffman is a hedge fund millionaire involved in racing and owned a Toyota-affiliated NASCAR team. He has a Nürburgring edition. The other was out and about - it sounded like an F1 car when the driver got on the throttle. It was probably a NASCAR driver given this was in NC and I know some of the other Toyota-affiliated drivers either borrowed or owned them. Kyle Busch got in trouble for driving 130 mph in one.

It is kind of funny to me that since then I've lived in very affluent parts of FL and CA and have seen almost every kind of exotic imaginable but have not seen another LF-A. Hell I saw a guy with a new Ford GT at my gym the other day.

I find it really amusing that I live near a 99cent Store in a very affluent area, and regularly see people park cars I couldn't dream of buying to go buy groceries at the 99 Cent Store. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)
