Tuscon has a sex offender treatment facility, so Ross is probably doing time with at least one silk road customer. I saw this play out in Ky. Governor pardoned someone on his way out the door. The FBI and US attorney brought charges that were related to the case but not the actually offense. End result was the guy walked out of prison in Ky and straight into federal pre-trial detention before he was convicted and put back in prison. The DOJ will re-instate the murder for hire charges when Biden is sworn in unless trump gives a pardon for them. They were separate cases so I don't think double jeoardy applies but IANAL. There's a colorable claim on whether the numerous federal charges that took over and never got heard in state court because, well, foreverially incarcerated in federal supermax, can be revived. I bet we can find out if there's a pardon!

As my squad clears out the village, I'm going to hit a drug with the butt of my assault rifle, and finish it off with the bayonet. I'm going to watch it bleed bitcoins until its spirit leaves with the last satoshi. I'm going to feed the drug's corpse to pigs, and make sausages out them next day to feed those sausages to the drugs we hold prisoners at the base.

Crawling out of my cave, I lift myself up. Whipping the blanket up and down near the bonfire, I send a smoke signal to my nearest neighbor, living ten miles away. The hot summer sun beats down on the cracked desert landscape. He lights a firework in response, to tell me he got the message. He's always been the smart one, able to make his own fireworks to send messages that way. Hopefully he doesn't lose his other foot making homemade explosives, but if he does, that's on him. I'm glad he got the message. It's an important message. The message was "DECENTRALIZATION ALWAYS PREVAILS". I hope he sends a microtransaction to the satellite high above to crypto-tip me for it. I could really use the money. I don't have reliable electricity to be able to check.

vortmax posted:that's a beautiful strawman you've got there That was the truth, so if you disagree with it, it would be a good idea to reconsider. The person acting as a judge talked about how drug laws influenced their decision to give him more life sentences than actual serial killers. https://www.scribd.com/doc/283722300/Ross-Ulbricht-Sentencing quote:“What Silk Road really was, was a social market expander of a socially harmful drug that we have deemed in our democratic process to be unacceptable and it was an enabler of those trying so very hard to get away from it. What you did in connection with Silk Road was terribly destructive to our social fabric.” Does this mention violence? Nope, just Reagan-era drug rhetoric. It has taken only a few years for countries to decriminalize all drugs, and reasonable people recognize those laws as existing to punish historically left-leaning people. xtal fucked around with this message at 02:35 on Dec 17, 2020 |
