Huskies are a breed of dog that I absolutely love watching 30 second videos of on the internet but I could never deal with one in real life. They seem so needy and the awoos would start to drive me insane after a while.

Not often I'd try a cute thread / sports crossover, but what the hell. There's a guy called Jomboy. He does a lot of sports videos, amongst them are what are called his breakdowns. Take a single play or chain of events and go into it for 3-5 minutes give or take. Often with attempts to read lips. They're frequently pretty amusing. (Also some NSFW language.) Helps if you like sports of course, but my wife doesn't and she watches them with me and finds him pretty entertaining though it's in part cause he sounds like the guy that played Nick in "New Girl." Getting to the drat point - he recently did a breakdown of his dogs. Dogs are always good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq__Ek2XXqo

I lurk in the greyhound thread in PI, and contrary to what you might expect from the breed all the greyhound goons characterize them as very cat-like in behavior.

A retired greyhound, a plott hound, something like that. A few years old, as they're really active puppies, but after 2 or 3 years they chill right out. As long as they get a walk/good exercise daily, the rest of the time they are sleeping, hanging out, watching you. And they're also up for an adventure any time. I got a new friend last week. Her and my hound get along famously. St_Ides has a new favorite as of 18:17 on Dec 17, 2020 |

I had a greyhound/collie mix growing up. He was a bit neurotic thanks to his rough life prior to us adopting him, but he was the chillest, sweetest boy for the most part. I don't know about cat like, but definitely more aloof than the lab. lmao, but why??

Seriously tho, I've seen a lot of wild animal behaviour footage and a surprising amount of it just being kind of an rear end because it is funny/easy. Humans are not special in finding this kind of poo poo funny. Corvids love to piss other animals off just for giggles.

They seem so needy and the awoos would start to drive me insane after a while. I had one for 13 years, a female They are indeed difficult dogs, in my experience. Before I had a boxer for 10 years, so it was quite a shock. They were opposites on pretty much everything But I wouldn't say she was needy, and the awooos weren't so bad after the first years. Difficult parts are, in my experience : - she was like on cocaine for most of the time. they NEED to run. a lot. my mother is a small old woman and she couldn't walk her cause she will pull you like a cart all the time, my mother wanst strong enough to resist - she didn't obey orders. probably is possible to train them of course, but I guess you would need professional help. we failed . and even old she would still steal food out of the table, steal toys from kids etc - she was somewhat ferocious. if she felt threatened (like because you were trying to recover a toy that's she stole from a crying kid), she would sneer at us and would attack if you advanced on her. she was the only dog Ive ever had that actually bit me In many ways, she was kind of a huge cat on steroids She was also fun as hell and I miss her a lot edit: also they are incredibly soft and don't smell, which is a great plus on my book. they do shred a lot though Elias_Maluco has a new favorite as of 02:41 on Dec 18, 2020 |
