She could of have been so much more but the writers just didn't care!

I think Sam said the same thing about the Jets.

Eh. Aside from the Jets they did not have any pushovers.

Chiefs
Falcons
Jets
Colts
Chargers

The Chiefs are arguably the best team in the league, the Falcons and Chargers can easily drop huge points on anyone, and the Colts defense has been stout all year while their passing offense has finally come alive the last month.

Of course you'd expect them to win 2-3 of those.

In modern NFL stuff, Schatz is posting about which teams are historically good / bad for their units. It's pretty funny that a lackluster year from an old rear end Brady is their best offensive season .

https://twitter.com/FO_ASchatz/status/1340005621538676736

In a followup, the Broncos and Bengals are having their worst offensive seasons, and nobody except the Rams are close to having their best defensive seasons.

DVOA was literally designed in order to give the Tom Brady Patriots a stat that says they're good.

This means the Titans are winning the superbowl as 3.3% extra DVOA magic points should equate to the 1 yard we fell short.

Please ignore our defense in this discussion. We'll obviously get a lot of turnovers.

I like how the 55 yard center field still exists here, I believe this would have been a game played in the precursor to the Big 10 Conference

Weird that statistical analysis would want to look at why teams that win all the time do that.

I posit that a statistic developed by a Patriots homer for the explicitly stated purpose of settling a score with a Boston Globe writer in 2003 might include some implicit biases that disproportionately inflate certain play styles and offenses.

Seems weird that it'd inflate the Bruce Arians offense then if it was designed to inflate the Tom Brady of 2001-2003 then considering one emphasized a short quick passing game focused on converting first downs and the other one's motto is No Risk it, no Biscuit.

wonder how brees' ribs feel now

quote:

Michael Thomas (ankle) won't play in Week 15 against the Chiefs.

Welp. He'll be replaced by Emmanuel Sanders and Tre'Quan Smith in a game that's slated with the highest total (52) on Sunday. Alvin Kamara was the direct beneficiary without Thomas earlier this year, averaging 9.7 targets and a team-high 27.1% target share from Weeks 2-8, but Sanders wasn't available for two of those performances. Given the game environment, Sanders, Kamara, Smith, and even Jared Cook can all be viewed as terrific options in lineups for Sunday.

I imagine there are facets to Tom Brady's game that are more informed by his previous 20 years of experience than his head coach's slogan that DVOA could theoretically be measuring, but it's a proprietary formula so we'll never know! Could just be a blanket "Is Tom Brady" +5% modifier for all we know.
