Personally I like the idea that emoji are a return to Egyptian hieroglyphics. The human brain has always worked well with pictograms and ideograms, and now that we are not hampered by the limitations of fixed type we are free to explore

If I may "Genius at Work" myself here...uhhh...no, not really? The Simpsons shorts had been airing for a couple years on the Tracy Ulman show at this point. But The Simpsons as a half hour animated show, yeah, sure. But then why are they using the first season Ulman shorts-era designs on that tweet and not the season 1 designs?
