Does avs sigs off mean yes avs and no sigs or no avs and no sigs?

Excuse me, pardon me, sheer perfection coming through
in re library movies pretty sure you still can in most places

as for book recommendations i think an underrated modern science fiction book is marrow by robert reed

overrated: three-body problem series by liu cixin. the first one was interesting if plodding, the others were hard to get through. i did appreciate some of the writing covering issues wrt the cultural revolution though which is something i have an unsurprising knowledge gap on

other scifi books you might be interested in reading if you haven't, for one reason or another; a lot of these go unnoticed by many i find

solaris by stanislaw lem
the left hand of darkness by ursula k leguin
red mars by kim stanley robinson
queen city jazz by kathleen ann goonan
footfall by niven and pournelle
the mote in god's eye by niven and pournelle
foundation by asimov (since there's gonna be a new tv series of it next year)
the sparrow by mary doria russell

also you should check out various issues of asimov's science fiction magazine (20 years' out there!) and the year's best science fiction which was edited yearly by gardner dozois until he passed a couple of years ago. 30 years of those. lots of good stories in both, and you don't need to spend a lot of time on any single story.
