I tried to install MSFS to my E:/ drive but it told me I didn't have permission, even though I'm admin. Prolly because I've reinstalled windows a ton since having the drive... 🤔 also SW: Squadrons with a HOTAS is revelatory. I am using a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 and a Thrustmaster TWCS throttle and I'm in heaven.

I usually play using the Rift version with Virtual Desktop. Looks much much better.

Are there any tools to test the throughput of your ports? I posted in the Flight Sim thread about how my USB-C TB3 with DP port doesn't seem to have enough throughput for Flight Sim and I want to just make sure.

It's a testament to how authentic feeling Pokerstars VR is because I closed the game the first time it was my turn and I didn't know what to do. Also I just played some more Ragnarock tonight, it's so much better now that I know you can change the angle of your hammers. If you want an arms flailing around in the air playing air drums rhythm game I highly recommend not skipping this game.

Especially now with blackjack tables in Pokerstars. If you’ve never had the pleasure of playing blackjack in an actual casino, it’s probably the biggest “hey fucker, you made the wrong move and screwed up my cards” game out there, since the choices you make affect the cards that the next person will get. If you don’t do what the person next to you is expecting you to do in irl blackjack, they tend to get mad, since you are all playing against the dealer and not against each other, so the incentive to actively screw the other players isn’t there

The card they "need" is just as likely to be 1 card back and you're helping them. No one comments when you take a card they don't need and set them up to win, only when its the other way. The only time this is not true is if people are counting deep, but at your average 6 shoe deck and $5-$10 bet no one is actually doing that. If they say they are they are lying. explosivo posted:Lmao yeah I decided to try blackjack after social anxiety-ing my way out of the poker table mid game and that was a bad idea. Also, don't a lot of real casinos use multiple decks at once for Blackjack? That's at least the case at the ones I've been to. Minimises the impact any one person could theoretically have, even though nobody actually even has any real impact.

Minimises the impact any one person could theoretically have, even though nobody actually even has any real impact. For standard they use 6 deck shoes (6 decks mixed together). I've seen some places do 4 but I've seen up to 8. Sometimes they'll do special 1 deck tables, but they shuffle between hands and have lower BJ payouts. Almost any table with special rules like that is a ripoff. With a 6 deck shoe it's still possible to get a real positive or negative shoe, where there are either higher or lower odds of getting 10s. But it's hard to count that deep and anyone who is isn't going to get pissed about a player hitting on a 14 or when the dealer is showing a 7 or w/e. You really aren't screwing anyone else up in Blackjack. Like I said, it's always because someone gets pissed and looking to blame someone. No one is givng you their chips when you take a card and the next one makes the dealer go bust.

Well, I’m the proud owner of a quest 2 now! Quick question because on my Rift CV1 I tried to buy from steam as much as I could, and I think the quest may mark my first actual oculus store purchase. When a game in the oculus store says it supports, “Rift, Rift S, Quest”, does that mean there is a native Quest (and quest 2) app along with a PC version for the rifts? I love Ultrawings on the Rift and I’d love to have it native on the Quest 2, so is that what “Rift, Rift S, Quest” means?

I thought they actually use 6 deck shoes with shuffling in Pokerstars. I only played it for a minute though. I wasn't really getting a lot of social chit chatting and there's better ways to get money. Also, for Pokerstars, play on the higher limit tables as soon as you can. The people are way more chill, they play reasonably better, and there's less people so you can actually get to know individuals if you play around the same times. The tournaments are good too, though its usually pretty aggressive ramp ups so you'll sometimes just get screwed, it happens. For tips for new people playing: 1. Don't worry about playing wrong in poker. If you do something dumb you either lose (and everyone else is happy) or you win and it wasn't dumb. Don't let anyone tell you that you won "the wrong way". You'll learn in time what is smart or dumb but sometimes you catch a lucky card and sometimes your opponent does. People will rage sometimes over the dumbest stuff. 2. If you want to win on the low/medium tables read up on "tight/aggressive" play. Know that people will call anything so don't try to bluff much to start. People are always chasing straights and flushes so keep your eyes peeled for those. 3. Don't go all in based on your first 2 cards. I know movies and shows are all about the dramatic "All In" moment, but thats not really poker. Even mediocre players are going to clean up against people who go all in all the time. Play slow and cautiously at first. 4. You probably should be folding your hole cards a lot, and if you don't have anything from the flop don't call bets "just to see". You'll bleed chips and develop bad habits that way. 5. Use the "mute avatar" remote thing on anyone who seems like a jerk or is being annoying. Pokers fun and it doesn't need to be very anxiety inducing, especially on fake money tables. It's a good social outlet when so many of us are stuck inside.

Some games exist on the rift and quest but are NOT crossplay, so you need to buy both if you want to play natively or using link. Virtual Desktop is on sale today (that is an example of there being a rift and a quest version and they are NOT crossplay). Get it, your steam library is going to feel so much better wireless with better res.

Thanks! That all is helpful info. Weirdly the thing I struggle with the most is betting. I usually just call because I don't have to make a decision and it's easier that way but I never know how much I should be betting/raising in different scenarios. I know this is all in my head but still is what makes me seize up the most.

I want to bet a little: Half of the current pot I want to bet a medium: Match the pot I want to push people out with a big bet: 2x the pot Those don't have to be exact, but if you look at the chips in the middle it'll tell you whats in the pot. If a bet is going to push most of your chips in you can round up to "all-in" but don't start a bet thinking "I want to go all in". Look at the pot, look at your chips, look at what your opponent has and go from there. You can bet less than half the pot but that's usually not a strong signal.

If you have a beefy PC fallout will work fine. If you’ve played it before you’ll know that at some point even on a monitor it starts to chug when you reach a late game area and here it’s no different. There are optimization mods but they don’t do much. People complain about the interface in both but really after a few minutes I get used to it. I personally like skyrim better but both are fine. hello internet posted:If you hit with 15 while the dealer shows a 6, you likely caused the rest of the table to lose. Playing with idiots that make plays based on how they "feel" is incredibly frustrating when playing with real money This is not mathematically correct. Taking a card doesn't make it more or less likely the next card is lower. You don't know if the next two cards are a 10 and a 4 or a 4 and a 10 or anything else. If the table is really positive then you might be worsening the odds slightly by hitting (but you're helping the table if it's negative), but you need to be counting real deep on a 6 deck shoe and if you are you're not dumb enough to say "you likely caused the table to lose".
