To y'all pin/brooch affictionados: Is there a decent term to use to find ones with a safety-pin-style attachment, as opposed to the earring-style spike+spikehat? (v. technical terminology.)

I've ordered a couple pins/brooches, and when I recieved the first one I realized that probably all of them are going to be the stab-straight-through kind. Which works on the straps for my bags, but not as well for the actual body of them.
And I'm worried they'll work their way off eventually and just drop off.

(First one I recieved was of course Goose-with-knife.)

Safety-pin-style is very uncommon for enamel pins, and in my experience is actually surprisingly insecure. Using a second safety pin or sewing the loops (if present) can reinforce those, but nothing is as sturdy as a straight pin with a locking pin back. This kind! Some people prefer the ones that you screw on with a tiny allen wrench, but those actually bend the pin and make it impossible to reconfigure poo poo when you need to move pins around. My jacket and bag are covered in enamel pins and I have never lost one with a locking pin back, though I've lost several badge/button style ones. Here's my pinniest jacket, which hopefully counts as credentials in this matter:

I got a big pack of locking pin backs on amazon that were probably just a drop ship from ali or something and I'd recommend testing each and every one with a pin you don't care about before using them to pin stuff to material. I had a few not lock and, on one memorable occasion, one got jammed stuck onto the pin and broke when I tried to pry it off.

Ooh, I didn't even think of the WtNV logo. I can't do that mask at work, but are there any official enamel pins? If there aren't official ones, are there knockoffs?

The locking backs for the pins make them exceptionally secure.

Official WtNV pins! I have the glow cloud one, might also buy the eye.

If I wanted to make a dedicated pins/patches thread, where would it fit? PYF?

Sweet, ordered the eye pin and a purple flask, and I'd totally pull the trigger on a death is only the end sticker or pin if they come out

Since we're on the subject, an 'ita bag' is basically a bag with a big clear window flap on it for the purposes of creating and protecting big enamel pin displays!

Does AliExpress have them? You bet it does!

What marvels of technology, thanks for the link! Nice pin collection as well.
And thanks for the tip Mercury Hat, I'll grab a couple more pins to use as potential sacrifices and etc.

I'm glad I asked in the thread, since at first glance those locking pins just looked like normal backs/fasteners, and if not for the reccomendation I probably wouldn't have known that they're a bit more advanced than that, spring loaded and everything.

I’m confused.

I have an order that still hasn’t been delivered to me (it seems like USPS has it but I dunno for sure).

There’s 20 hours left on the “your item will be delivered in”.

Do I open a dispute and request a refund in case it doesn’t come?

Is there some way to extend the time? I don’t mind paying for the item if I get it and USPS is hosed rn.

You can request an extension on the time but for some reason they made it Very Annoying. I don't have any active orders so I can't double check for you, but i'm pretty sure the option used to be in 'Contact Seller' on the Orders page.
If you can't find it, you can just 'Contact Seller' and ask them to extend the time

I don't know which is funnier, that those arm pieces are what you're actually buying to mix and match with your existing clothing, or that they come preattached to an otherwise unremarkable pantsuit

I will not click through and find out, please nobody tell me

Probably because mechanised sorting it's cheaper to send you some extra dots than have calls to customer service + shipping & handling.

The knockoffs are likely sorted by hand in a sweatshop.

My kids Lego advent calendar this year had literally 5-7 extra dots per day on builds with less than 15 pieces each

Reflective stuff isn't enough even if it's a full body suit because it only works if the car is pointed at you and it won't do anything if, for example, you and a car are coming to the same intersection perpendicular to each other. You need lights.

Lol yup. I had to do a product recall on a line of Nerf water pistols this year because the plastic had too much lead in it. The yellow plastic colourant is lead based to some degree and a batch went over the EU limit so they had to be destroyed.
