I enjoy the people who are convinced that Shad is going to turn off the money faucet for his failson any moment now, and it’s obvious it’s coming soon, just you wait.

If you mention the fact that they are already turning a profit, even without live shows, or the fact that TNT extended the contract because of how happy they were with the ratings even before COVID, they go into full conspiracy mode. It’s amazing.

Still partial to this one: https://twitter.com/kristenashly/status/1301553186847821826?s=21 Completely ignoring one of those people is functionally retired, 3 stuck overseas, two are Leva Bates and Mel and tying it all together by looking up the wrong Abadon on Cagematch and not immediately realizing the woman who is clearly in her mid-20s has probably not been wrestling for 13 years.

Lead Pipe Cinch posted:Still partial to this one: years of experience as a metric for greeness is also a really dumb idea especially for womens wrestlers outside of japan, there are less oppertunities and spots for women and they are often working with a smaller pool of people so you are working less matches with worse people so it can take much longer to improve. much like how britt baker has 8 years of experience but shota umino has probably over 100 more matches than her.

Don't be silly; Riho is still in her early 20s. I think she's one of the stopwatch viewers and I don't like those because it misses the point a bit: short segments can be more impactful than long ones and its not like AEW have a million possible women's matches that you'd trust to go longer and the logical thing to do is to spread them out rather than burning them all off and suddenly all you have are repeats.

If Ryan actually got a full time job writing surface level WWE analysis pieces once or twice a week, then more power to him, I'd just rather such a job go to someone who didn't have enough family money or whatever to devote to working full time at grinding out a new ad-supported wrestling site from scratch. (I'm sure the site did well enough eventually for Collider to decide to buy it, but he and the site had been around for years by then.)
