Hori has been abusive or wanting to be abused for a majority of the series. It's the worst aspect of the series and makes it hard to recommend, which is a shame because it's a really solid slice of life romcom where the two mains get together immediately outside of that. But then Hori intermittently busts out the "I want you to choke me" type of stuff and makes things uncomfortable.

New chapter of Destroy all Humankind and boy do I enjoy the chapters that really lean into the duels. Mill decks are annoying to play against but this card seems like a lot of fun to use.  On the B-side of the chapter, Hajime and Emi are having their own cycling adventures.  And Hajime still has cold feet about being honest with himself

It is really a weird tone shift when that aspect slips out and I hate that it's even in there to begin with, I don't understand the point of it because it feels like it's supposed to just be some kind of slapstick gag but it's not funny at all. However it's also a relatively small portion of the manga overall so I'm pretty comfortable just noting that as a flaw and moving on.

It's more that the story tends to cut between scenes or cut in flashbacks quite abruptly and it does so on a pretty regular basis. Like I get it, and I appreciate the character parallels, but it also means sometimes when the comic cuts to a scene of the friend it takes me a moment to figure out whether it's the past or the present in a way that is disruptive rather than particularly narratively interesting for me  . I'm not sure if that particular effect is intentional, or if I enjoy it if it is. I find it distracting from the more interesting things going on in the story.I think reading one chapter a month probably doesn't help with this issue of keeping track of what's going on, tbh, so it'll probably be better on a re-read.
