I remember listening to Danger Doom's The Mouse and the Mask way back when it came out in 2005 and thinking it was crazy. I don't think I'd heard anything like that at the time. I listened to MM...FOOD again last night and it still goes hard. What a loss

I hadn't listened to hip hop and rap for a long time and when I heard this album and noticed how there's probably not a single chorus line on it I was hooked. Years later after thinking I've heard everything he made I find on Spotify "Best of MF DOOM and Grimm compilation album and never heard him rhyme over some of his older beats on Special Herbs. Thanks DOOM for bringing me back into hip hop and finding new loves along the way.

That said he's arguably at his best lyrically on there, and even the reused beats were good (or things that hadn't been rapped over).

I watched that hour and a half long interview on youtube with DOOM, the red bull academy one, and I have a ton more respect for the man than I did before (which is wild). KMD had some really great tracks and it sucks they weren't more successful.
