I’ve read this order 5 times and it doesn’t any anything about not transporting. It only defines when oxygen should be given while in the ambulance.

E: the order is specifically talking about patients who go into arrest and can't be resuscitated, saying that they're ordered not to transport "patients with little chance of survival" is misrepresenting the order

I've had pretty good success with pointing out that the reason it spreads so fast and kills so many people is that a lot of people experience mild symptoms, letting them spread it that much easier to those it does maim and kill.

I've yet to deal with anyone who denies the infection and death rates, but if I had, they'd be dead to me anyways, so idc

Grimey Drawer
Trip report from the Munich mass testing site:

You schedule an appointment (usually the first slots available are 2 days later) and then go to the Oktoberfest grounds where the beer tents used to be in the Before Times.

Now there is a huge white tent there that has a drive in lane and an entrance for walk-ins and cyclists.

You walk up to a booth where a "doorman" checks your name on the list of appointments, then you walk along the path into the tent, inside there are 2 counters for walk-ins and 4 for cars. Since there were few cars I was asked to go to the adjacent car lane desk.

At the first desk they scan your appointment QR code and birth date and need to see some kind of ID. Then they hand you a GDPR form to read at home (this is Germany after all, gotta make sure to cover their asses) and a transfer slip with 2 stickers.

You walk 10 m forward where there is a second desk, and put down your slip. One person transfers one sticker onto a little leaflet while the other pokes your brain takes a swap from the back of your mouth. You get the leaflet and walk out.

The leaflet has a URL where you can get your result or a QR code for an App (if you are a frequent swabee I guess), results are available 2-3 business days later.

I was in and out in under 7 minutes even though there were 5 people and several cars in front of me.

This is completely free for anyone in Bavaria, unless you return from a vacation or had an App contact alert, then your insurance covers it, but that means it is also free for you.

Australia's has always had an element of centralisation to it. It's modelled off the Singapore TraceTogether/BlueTrace algorithm, which does the matching server-side. As you suggest, they may well have grabbed it as they've grabbed phone data. Maybe they've dragnetted it up too though, idk. In any case, it's still got issues due to capturing data of third parties to the warrant.

Speaking of Singapore, they've backtracked on only using their tracing privacy data being only used for contact tracing, now admitting that police can get it for investigations too. This is going to be way more damaging to the trust in these systems.

Singapore an Australia are the only countries using a centralised data and reporting system (blue wave). Apple/google use a completely different decentralised system that is much less vulnerable to misuse.

Please don't contribute to the FUD that has made the uptake of contract tracing apps so garbage.

Well, ya'll don't know me. Feeling somewhat shattered right now.

Some background.

Been trying my best to be mindful of this pandemic.

I'm a bartender at a small hotel next to the ocean.

Last Saturday was my last day at work. We are closed for the next few months, it's cold outside and nobody wants to come here.

Yay! unemployment if I'm lucky. Most importantly, some time off to indulge in some solitary hobbies.

So, how am I shattered?

Nice old lady across the street, who I have known for 25 years, asks me to help her move a couch into her home.

Note, this isn't an unusual request, our neighborhood has always been the kind of folks that help each other out.

Well, after trying to accomplish an impossible task, which I knew from the onset of the problem, I surrendered.

I tapped out, made my apologies, and began my exit.

Oh, and this whole ordeal encompassed nearly an hour.

Turns out Granny had Covid "sometime around Christmas", according to her daughter, a traveling nurse.

I am the ultimate idiot. A good deed might kill me, or make my life more complicated than it should have been.

If "around Christmas" means before the 25th you might be fine. The doctors here are letting people go on about their business 10 days after a positive test. The CDC is saying 7 days might be fine.
