It was good policy to open them for one day because "every day counts", apart from all of the ones other than yesterday

There's no incentive to learn when there are zero consequences for being a worse than useless fuckup.

Hopefully this "lockdown" will help enough to give the vaccine teams a chance to get on top of it.

If anyone can then please do say so. E: I meant generally. Even post-virus, where will we be?

The one positive at the moment is that they're at least saying they're going to keep the lockdown in place until the most vulnerable were vaccinated. We should never have left the November lockdown though, what a loving idiotic decision. Of course I fully expect the lockdown to be lifted on 1st March even if the vaccinations don't go the way they want.

If you consider say, post war social democracy (which while not great is probably something a lot of us would be comparatively happy to live with) came after... the entirety of everything leading up to that in human history, then it perhaps provides an idea that people can and do rebuild after every catastrophe. It sucks that very rarely do the people responsible get their heads lopped off, and it also sucks that we are the people who have to live through the collapse, but society continues after us.

Society's pretty hosed, but if you've done your part (which you have) you should be able to rest easy. Spring's coming, music still exists, even the tories can't cancel some things.

The voting booth doesn't contain a binary lever with Labour on one side and Tories on the other. The 62% not voting for Labour, fine, if you don't like them, you don't have to. The 43% FOR the Tories are making an active choice to vote for the demonstrably bad thing.
