The actual gameplay graphics clash so hard with the cutscene graphics and are also, uh, kind of hideous.

aaaah too close cloak lady, too close!

e: wait, so, the CD-I controllers have literally different numbers of buttons? That seems like a questionable console design decision.

Why would you have variable buttons on a controller? Also wow that lady was creepy.

Does Russian animation have, like, different conventions for framing or something, because like 75% of these cutscenes have the characters doing really weird zoom in/zoom outs or crawling from off the screen or switching places, it's very...unnerving.

CD-I was intended to be a format that multiple manufacturers could develop hardware for, and it also wasn't exclusively designed for video games.

A golden helix streaked skyward from the Helvault. A thunderous explosion shattered the silver monolith and Avacyn emerged, free from her prison at last.

The Zelda CDI games are one of the only things I can think would look better with fewer frames of animation. Not even in a 'it would be better without animations' sense, everything just moves too much.

Something I find wild about this game is that literally EVERY SINGLE SCREEN has unique music. Even the screens you are on for 5 seconds tops have a music track made for them that plays nowhere else.

It's like they played two hours of various B-list NES platformers, then set out to make the best game they could with no further idea of what a good video game entails
