Another thing about patrons not reshelving books is, a book that's misfiled can very easily become "missing" in the library records. It's still there, but even three or four shelf lengths away, someone looking for it is not gonna see it (and if it's a title they want to still have available they'll have to buy a new copy.) It can be replaced if found and that was one thing I did when volunteering was correcting records, but it's a pain.

We've all known for some time that Brooke loves loves LOVES when his characters get to gently caress in front of a live audience. I hate that he apparently considers small children to be an acceptable audience. Okay, and? Yeah, they're birthday candles, I get it, what a stupid useless idiot. But also, this isn't even her house. And also, she's six.

Green Intern posted:Specifically, they're Mafia Bosses in the drug trade, which Modesty and Willie have an intense dislike of and spent a lot of their time smashing while in their own criminal network. Yeah, I get why Modesty would hesitate about saving people engaged in the drug trade. I guess I'm just hung up on the detail that Joanna was used as the cult's sex slave. We've seen Modesty kick the rear end of a wifebeater, or even take down a human trafficking ring that sold girls to rich men, so it's just weird that she doesn't even mention what happened to Joanna as a reason for wanting to go after the Blackwings. Like she could mention wanting to take down the Blackwing for what they did to Joanna while also hesitating about doing it because it would mean saving the lives of the Mafia bosses. Julet Esqu posted:We've all known for some time that Brooke loves loves LOVES when his characters get to gently caress in front of a live audience. While Edda and Amos don't know that the kids are fully aware of what's happening in front of them, Brooke as the writer obviously does, so he's really gross to make these strips. I was wondering if Foob was just going to ignore that the parents dumped the baby in Liz's room. Liz is still a growing kid who needs a full night's sleep. The baby's crib is close to her so of course she'll be the first one woken up when it's crying. It's completely reasonable for her to be upset and complain to her parents about it. Ughhhh.

Surgeon's Tales In the book the sergeant is speaking a mix of German, Swedish, Finnish and Russian, so you have lines like these (from the English translation, which touches only the Swedish parts): "mituntereinander wie ein Eselsjunge for these cursed kivekät und Teufels nasibratten Marsch" "Wech mit palaschen und on your knees mit that koiran oder den Teufel take dich" While parsing these is pretty fun challenge, they are hard to understand and the comic just has him speaking broken Finnish, which I try to imitate here.
