at this point for me any seller who says "they lost the thing they're supposed to send me" or any buyer who says "my toddler hit BUY ITEM on my phone can you cancel please!!!" just makes me think "oh you're having second thoughts and want to bail on the transaction in a way that won't get you smacked by ebay"

Actually got around to reading the last issue on Sunday. The second story that wraps everything up in an epic battle was utter poo poo since the person drawing has clearly no experience with drawing the robutts. Why on earth they picked them to work on the finale is beyond me.
That said, the series all in all is good stupid fun. The first story of that issue has the Insecticons invading Applejack's orchard and then Discord teleports in her whole family to kick their rear end. That's the whole story and it works.

E: Actually, this bit where Twilight plugs up Megatrons cannon is great.

Transformers as a franchise has always been very parallel to My Little Pony, as hasbro toylines that gained so much from having a media franchise foisted upon it to give names and personalities to all the different designs and a narrative to their general existence. I think it's only natural for them to intersect every so often.

Although I'm still waiting for a crossover with Steven Universe because that has many more direct similarities.

It would certainly come off that way if Bay had attempted it, I think. It's not a major part of his character but it's a tempering element. Prime without his willingness to try goofy poo poo like that or crack a joke now and then ("A booby trap that actually catches boobies!") or show some interest in Earth culture or even just cover his ears when Jazz plays his ding-dang loud rock music is an overly stoic bore who spouts an aphorism, fights real good, then dies. He doesn't have to robo-dunk but the character needs some rounding in almost every depiction since 2007.
Yeah, exactly. The literal dunking was just something I picked as a comedic example and it doesn't have to go that far, but I want my Optimus to chuckle at things from time.

That was the biggest problem I had with Rodimus Prime back in the day, he was just so mopey and serious all the time, and it seems like modern Optimi have followed that blueprint.

Going down my mental list of Hasbro properties, I want a My Little Pony/Inhumanoids crossover.

Cyberverse Gnaw is pleasantly chunky. I know it lost a little arm articulation compared to the Titans Return toy it's a redo of, but the bigger size and the fact that it's something I could just grab off the shelf of a local store for a tenner more than make up for it

And also, like...it's real fuckin' weird to imply that approaching a set of characters primarily as conduits for endless war is somehow the normal thing versus telling stories about them as characters relating to one another interpersonally. It might be more common, but normal? Not it, chief.

This was somebody's exact problem with MTMTE in a conversation I had a while back elsewhere. "They just TALK! They don't fight!" That they'd been doing it for millions of years and now a group of them wanted to just sort of gad about the galaxy was something he couldn't wrap his head around. (Also they did fight,* like a lot.)

It’s cute to know it’s out there. A lovely bit of defiance against people who take their toy brands too seriously. While I’m not into shipping, I’d be all about fan art of G1 Optimus Prime being a good dad to Bumblebee, or Soundwave and his cassettes.

I hope this stuff is out there for G.I. Joe

Some people like different kinds of stories, and that's fine.

Personally, I'm mostly fine with romance stories, but I really don't like shipping much, and stories that try to play up their appeal to shippers by putting all the characters in the quantum superposition where they can be simultaneously be read as being in a dedicated relationship with any number of other characters while also being plausibly single just really bug me a whole lot more.

But to some people, taking those characters and bumping them up against eachother to imagine that they're in a relationship is what they love most about whatever fiction they're into, and that's fine. Other people want to make them fight, and other people want to make them play out the story of being in a doomed society falling apart and barely scraping by in the ruins.

I increasingly like to treat this fiction like a pen and paper roll playing setting. Sure you can take the tools, the settings, the characters and do the most obvious thing. But it does not dilute or reduce the setting to play with the parts in new ways, reinvent it or otherwise come at it from a new angle. Everyone can take what they want away from it. It's purely additive.

I stopped in at a Walmart to see if they had any Runamucks for plan "swap out the headless one and return it". Nope, but they did have a shitload of Siege Chromias and one Ironworks. And Kingdom. I think most of Earthrise is gonna get skipped here.

I did pick up Primal and the big skelesaurus. I cancelled them out of a preorder last month but things are a little better now and I felt weird about getting Megatron and not Primal. Kinda want to pick up Blackarachnia too but "mondo titties and she turns into a giant horrible spider" may be a tough sell with my wife.

Maybe check some WWE or TMNT figures for garbage cans.

Think I might be done with Transformers after 86’ Jazz and Grimlock. Only other one I might want is Springer, but he’s super easy to get.
