i love that conservatives seem to have figured out that big corporations and politicians both being controlled by the oligarchy is functionally same thing as a stalinist one-party hell state. eat the rich, kill the billionaires and stop their socialist agenda!

DariusLikewise posted:no because eligibility for ei says you need to be able to work full time and are actively seeking full time employment Are you sure? It says actively seeking employment not full-time employment. ESDC posted:You may be entitled to Employment Insurance (EI) regular benefits if you: Bolding mine. Each day does not necessarily mean each day from 9 to 5. Full-time past employment is not an eligibility criterion. according to ESDC, "You only need 120 insured hours to qualify for benefits because you’ll get a one-time credit of 300 insured hours to help you meet the required 420 insured hours of work."

Y'all never been on pogey? The form you fill out every two weeks specifically asks and says you cannot collect as a student. There are programs that are exceptions, but they are mostly for prospective college students that just lost a job.

Goosed it. posted:Are you sure? It says actively seeking employment not full-time employment. this is what the bi-weekly report asks you quote:You will be asked the following question: "Were you ready, willing and capable of working each day, Monday through Friday, during each week of this report?" you would have a hard time saying yes if you are in high school 8 hours a day Professor Shark posted:Right... they would be in school, unable to look for a job during that time. I guess if a job came up they could just... drop out? you might be able to convince a service canada person that you can drop out any time I guess, they should really try calling in and seeing if that works rather than the automated process

Easy solution for high-school students to collect EI is to attend part time. If classes claim up to 40 hours a week, take half the classes. Lots of people work 60+ hours out there, so 20 hours school and 40 hours looking for work. Bingo bongo.

Oh yes, giant tiger. Where half of the customers coming in at 8 am for smokes are already drunk (and driving to work), and I had to physically restrain a 50 year old man who wanted to beat up the 16 year old cashier.
