53% is really good friend, the only things that really measure good at Tarkov are survival rate (profitable raids) and stash value (profit from raiding). In a game as tough as the Tarkov, something like "I survive every other raid" is p impressive

Yeah I just started playing the game again this wipe, and showing the ropes to my buddy who bought the game on sale over the holidays. It’s been taking it us up to 10 minutes to get into a raid in customs doing the early quests. Luckily we’ve survived more than we’ve died, otherwise I’m sure he would have given up by now if we were getting immediately slaughtered, only having to gear up again and go through that all over again.

These people have to be like, using bots for real right? There is no way people would keep playing if they survived less than every tenth raid?

Also, in hindsight my "I only have 53% tihihi" could be construed as a humblebrag, it was in no way intended as such and every time I go into a raid I feel like Sarah Connor at Tech Noir.

I'm getting some pretty shite performance in Tarkov. I've got a 3600 and a rtx3070 yet in the offline I was just practicing in I was dipping to ~45fps. I assumed it was just trying to use a single core, but what's weird is I've got the resource monitor open and the CPU was quite happily sitting at 20% usage and GPU thermals are very low too. Is this a common problem? Based on the rest of the game I'm expecting some obscure menu interaction.

Had a weird bug last night. Nighttime raid on Customs I encounter some cultists, kill one but one shoots me from a bush I fall down dead and black screen, expect to be taken to the menu but nope just black screen. Maybe 2 minuteswaiting and nothing else so I ctrl alt del end task, restart tarkov and its letting me reconnect. When I rejoin I start at a fresh pmc spawn on the same raid with all my loot but red torso and broken armor like I've been risen from the dead. So yea cultists are freaky.

Eh, I'm currently sitting at about 15% and I'm still having fun. I just bought in this wipe and I haven't been playing consistently, so I'm still learning maps and stuff. There's a long way to go, but I knew I'd be dying a ton going in, especially since I'm not great at shooters to begin with. Still, winning a fight and extracting is such a goddamn rush. Hell, sitting in a bush with an SKS while two groups of geared monsters duke it out right next to me while praying noone chucks a nade my way is a rush.

If you've got the mechanical skill there's not a lot to worry about, the threat level in Tarkov goes about as follows:

Killa > AI Shotgun Scav > Shturman > PMCs > Raiders/Other Bosses > AI Scavs > Player Scavs

Check your power settings and make sure you're on the Maximum Performance mode or whatever in Windows. On my machine it would sit at around 15% GPU usage and run like poo poo otherwise. After turning that on it spiked up to 💯 and feels great.

I think first wipe, if you're playing solo and not having anyone show you the ropes at all, high teens, low 20s survival rate is probably par for the course.

I find that a lot of the folks that I know who have bounced off the game are very reluctant to use their good gear, or invest in armor or ammo over whatever else they buy. If you are struggling already, and then youre trying to make a minimal investment to get back in raid, spending that minimal investment in bad stuff will make you broke real fast.

A lot of the games hurdles can be easily passed by knowing where your roubles are better spent (crafting profitable stuff, prioritizing hideout upgrades, good ammo, efficient gun builds) and those things unfortunately arent always easily laid out by the game itself. You can also just be a good shot, cause that works too. But people who stick around a couple wipes often find a comfortable place to make consistent progress even if you die 17 pmc runs in a row. (Which I did this wipe)

I'd recommend keeping up with where your quests tell you to go, they kind of guide you to go on more and more difficult maps. Shoreline is probably your next best bet though, just don't go to the resort alone quite yet, the outside circle can be profitable and much more safe.

I dont agree with this. I think customs can be one of the least forgiving maps for newer players. When new people join my group I usually show them the ropes on shoreline. buy keys piecemeal, get east 226 first, and do pistol runs at night.

Resort is kind of rough but about a quarter of the time at night youll be alone there, and can make a few mil quickly and pay for your quest / fun runs for the next day.

BE had a massive banwave of radars over the weekend followed by a block on hyperv.

So this is their continued effort to kill Radar.

The fact that they managed to ban a ton of DMA radar users over the weekend is pretty impressive.

The block of hyperv is dumb.

Cheaters are paying up to $150/month for radar. If they can't run a VM they'll just rent the VM in the cloud - the cost is not significant compared to what they are already paying.

Really they just need to keep pressure on banning the hardware solutions and internals and that's that.

The VM blocks are extremely minor hinderances. Anyone who thinks that cheats will be slowed down by the requirement of a second physical PC hasn't looked at the prices cheat providers are charging for EFT cheats...

Back when I played counterstrike 1.6, I could tell I was getting burned out on it and was about ready to quit, so for my last few weeks of playing I installed some (free, easily available) hacks. It was fun just for the novelty of playing a game I was already familiar with, but in a different way. But yeah I can't imagine that being the default way you'd want to play a game, and definitely not paying for it.

Watching Pestily struggle with daytime Customs to do early quests in this season’s raid series really highlights how much of an nightmare it is for a new player. He says that he normally does those quests at night because it’s easier, but I still don’t have the map knowledge or access to NVG to get those done.

The real problem with customs is the spawn locations. If you don’t start moving immediately someone with more game knowledge than you is gonna be right on top of you and you’re dead. Hard to start moving when you don’t even know where you are yet. Put more spawns in the middle Nikita!

The sad thing is that the "Do quest at night - it's easier!" thing isn't as true anymore as my most recent night time customs run to get bolt rifle scav kills at night, I saw no shortage of NV geared mans hunting PMCs.

It's 100% true in the early game just because nobody is running NV.

I went to Shoreline with NV hoping to get some ez pmc kills for punisher part 5 - that didn't work out well for me either.
