I highly recommend this humidifier or this type: Vornado Evap40 4-Gallon Evaporative Humidifier with Adjustable Humidistat and 3 Speeds https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O0WOO74/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_MJ4D5JB3J1WK7EBTP503 evaporative humidifiers are basically a fan blowing on water. No mist or anything but very effective at humidifying and simple to clean/maintain if you buy a few wick replacements. Also don’t spray crud into the air like cool mist ones. We had a hot steam humidifier but it literally tried to kill us a couple months ago. It ran out of water at 4am and a leak shorted out the automatic shutoff so if started loving melting. our bedroom fillled with thick, toxic plastic smoke. It didn’t wake me up but luckily my wife did and we had to throw it outside and blast fans to get the stench out. It probably cut a few years off our life expectancy.
