Nope I think he was considered way too toxic. IIRC his in story was he was in space or something really absurd.

Not particularly...as I recall it was mostly talking poo poo about everyone around him, and the rest of the cast were pretty united in denying most of it. But it certainly hosed his career, people still know him as Screech more than his real name. Everything he did after the main show ended just reeks of desperation.

My understanding is that this stuff has to pass (with 50), then you can do the reconciliation thing. I don't know how quickly that then gets done, but the deadline is the end of the month when unemployment benefits expire. That's a full-blown cliff, as states are *still* hosed up from Donnie throwing his tantrum and letting unemployment benefits expire.

Give whoever it is in the DCgov that delivers it a loving badge, there are people who work mainly in other buildings but have to visit the Capitol as part of their job. CP got loving clowned so now they’re going full dumbshit security guard playbook.

I'm surprised any dudes who had authority still have a job honestly. I would have called for the heads of everyone above a certain pay grade, and suspended everyone else pending a security review, and had nat guard take over police duties for a minute while all that poo poo gets sorted.

If COVID weren't a thing, we have people in my office that go to Rayburn and Russell like once a week to grab documents that we can't get digitally from the GPO. So I do wonder how they're gonna handle stuff like that.

The same way they always have, just with an approved exception to the normal policies to restrict staff movement and occupancy. For a while I had to transit different sections of a large government building by checking out an “unrestricted access pin.”

There is nothing restricting government couriers in any meaningful way. Especially not for anything important.

Doing things the wrong way doesn't go so hot when your party doesn't control the judiciary

Laws can absolutely be nullified if the process for their presentation and passage are not adhered to.

I think that a security checkpoint at the Capitol is only an impediment to lifesaving legislation if we allow it to be.

More than likely this will probably be cleared up with a phone call and a policy change but it chafes that we’re still needlessly tying our own hands in a crisis.

There's already been an executive order stopping all work on (and all funding for) the wall, but given how little was built in the first place this might still happen by accident.

Well the difference for us is we used to pull our cars right up to one of the entrances and wait while someone else went inside and checked everything out. Don't see us doing that again anytime soon.

Though I agree with you, we'll likely still have access to the building. It's just going to be a bigger pain in the rear end now.

It looks like they could be a little high but he's sitting down. Properly fitted trousers shouldn't bunch up around the ankles when standing and should hike up like that when seated. Trump only paid attention to what he thought looked big/impressive/manly so huge ties and poorly fitting dress clothes (also he is fat and trying to hide it). He basically wore drapes and it looked terrible.
