I'm not a huge fan of paying people in scrip but the alternative to having accommodation provided is that some fucker buys up all the rooms available en masse and then starts charging people through the nose to rent them, so on balance it seems like a pretty good system as is

Maybe some enterprising landlord will negotiate whatever international treaties govern setting up Antarctic slums sooner or later. But until then accommodation and food aren't provided as perks but because it would be impossible get the job done otherwise, in much the same way that employees aren't expected to pay the $10,000+ that is the going rates for flights down there. Typically you get paid more for jobs where you spend long periods working away from home in a company camp, not less. I completely understand the appeal of spending a season in Antarctica, I've worked in the Arctic a fair bit and I'd love to visit the deep, deep south myself. But I don't think it's that strange to expect some extra compensation for the added hardship that the job requires (or even just the normal amount of compensation for the skill level).

The first point to make clear is that it is not a Labour party document.

It was a document produced by an external agency about the Labour party - it was created by a third party and the recommendations in that report are their recommendations.

It is not right to say it was presented as our strategy. That is not what it was and to claim otherwise is wrong.

We will write our own strategy and that will be a strategy focused entirely on how do we restore trust and how do we win in 2024.

so you set up a focus group that says you're a political mist unable to even pick a fence to sit on, and you respond by leaking and denying the focus group report.

These people clearly believe their own shite, so I'm struggling with the incredible lack of self awareness.

Do they not know what fence-sitting is or something

I really wish they'd do one of those Games Workshop hack and slash games where you get to be a champion of Chaos rather than an agent of the Empire/Imperium. C'mon, RPG customisation where you get to pick your god and become progressively more mutated would be rad as hell. Let me play as a Warrior of Slaanesh and obliterate an entire screenful of enemies in a tastefully-scented murder-orgy, or a Sorcerer of Tzeentch who turns the entire enemy army inside out and then makes them eat each other.

There are games like this yet to be made that are going to be brilliant. But not now.
The problem with making them right now is that its a hell of lot of complexity.
There is a reason why most game figures are human shaped, fat tall ones for Orcs, small for dwarves, thin for elves, etc, as its easy to make assets for them.
Adding in tentacles, third, forth, multiple limbs, horns, etc, explodes the work needed to make fiddly stuff for them like armor or animations.
Whereas you can basically just stretch or squish them for the usual lot of fantasy species.

I mean, just having them as part of your gear (or have you grow them for specific attacks) in a Diablo clone would be fine. They already go part of the way there in Inquisitor, where tech-priests, for instance, can end up with quite different models and animations from armour set to armour set. The precise detail of the character model is never the most interesting thing in a hack and slash.
