Oh gently caress don't bring up Ayn Rand in this thread lol. I actually think the 'throw away your family to become a full time GoT larper in literally the woods' is an amazing comic and thats exactly why I wish Zen Pencils had continued. Theres a really good parody out there that swaps GoT for super mario but the original has a subtlety I really appreciate. The 'myazaki boards a giant mech to write the word 'ART' on the moon to own this ugly blob monster that blatantly represents my critics' storyline was also top tier.

While it's not exactly a wrestling story and some more of his life is sad, Perry Saturn was an army ranger (Or at least he passed the entire rough rear end course to be a graduate) turned full time wrestler, who in the early 2000's also stopped two guys from raping a lady, wherein he got shot twice "to which he originally thought he had received a punch, as a result of the scuffle." Big ole beefman

There was this youtuber called Stryder7x who made really good Paper Mario content. he stopped posting about a year ago and I didn't notice. Turns out that it came out that he was an abuser. The exact allegations have been deleted but judging by the replies it was pretty bad. drat.

I don’t think Stryder7x’s online presence enabled the abuse in any way. Unlike many online personalities whose scandals involve them preying on or taking advantage of their fans in some way, the allegations against Stryder seem to be largely unrelated to his online presence.

With all the info that's come out, it sounds like ProJared was a huge creep because even if they were 18+ he was still running a private little tumblr thing for him and his fans to "safely share with each other" and whatever, his wife had some big ole issues and probably needed/needs help but apparently on and off kept telling him that going outside their marriage was a thing and he could and it was hot and then it wasn't and he's a cheat and you're with X or Y aren't you and then couldn't decide, Ross's wife was an unrepentant cheat just because and then Ross was just left being the sole innocent person of all their poo poo.

^That's why they usually date other minor celebrities or people who aren't fans if they don't want drama. It was just a tweet from Jenny at the time, but I liked her take to imagine the shitstorm if a popular singer had run a community for his fans to share nudes and then tried to write it off as "hey, I put 18+ only, how could I have known?" Like, it's probably not hard illegal but it's still super weird and creepy and would have been a big career hit. Just because the person is YouTube famous versus regular famous doesn't really change it.

Were I a youtube person I would definitely keep thinking about the percentage of my audience that is under 18, and also about how much older I am than 18. Like even if you're making people send you photos of their ID before they post nude photos of themselves on your weblog, you're still having a pretty terrible effect on everyone else who's watching you do it.
