I trailed this but left off the Canes because i didn't want to put money on my team and also didn't bet Minnesota. Turned 10 bucks into 36 on MyBookie. Thanks and sorry to hear yours didn't hit.

I also had Edmonton/Montreal at 20 which covered the other bet + a little bit so I made like 5 bucks overall.

Going to put my SB bets here. Disclaimer I have no idea what I'm doing and just YOLOing some funbux to have stuff to cheer for during the game. Also I don't like Tom Brady so none of my bets favor him or his team.

KC Field Goal 1st Scoring Play - $5 returns $25
Tight End - Position of 1st TD Scorer - $10 returns $40
Yes Opening Kickoff returned for TD - $5 returns $335
Blue liquid poured on winnning coach - $5 returns $45
KC Total Points 34 - $25 returns $325
A. Okafor over 0.75 sacks - $50 returns $275

quote:

Suddenly, the room goes silent and everyone stops to look up at the TVs. Referees, team captains and the honorary coin-flipper are gathering at midfield. Out in the sportsbook, there's a gasp of anticipation as the coin is tossed into the air. Heads or tails to determine which team gets the ball first -- and who gets to keep the money bet on the coin flip.

The coin turns end over end, bounces on the field and settles on heads. The stressed-out boss quickly asks, "How'd we do?"

An employee hastily grades the bets, takes a deep breath and replies with trepidation, "We just lost $38,000. We're stuck 38 dimes, and the game hasn't even started."

The boss asks another question: "What the f---?"

Also:

quote:

This year's coin features ocean waves running horizontally in between the team logos of the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers on one side. The Super Bowl LV logo, with the Lombardi trophy between the L and V, is on the other side. Traditionally, the side with the Lombardi trophy is designated heads. Both sides weigh practically the same, according to Bohbot.

Strong Sauce posted:

this is dumb. obviously what you need to do is steal the actual coin they will be using, figure out which side is weighted heavier based off the relief design, then kidnap the head referee and hypnotize him so he flips that side facing up when he tosses the coin.

Thinking about taking advantage of FanDuel's single game parlay insurance and putting together something like Hill, Kelce, and Gronk all to get TDs. That parlay pays +779, and getting my money back if 2/3 are right feels like a good hedge.

888 sports has some interesting rules to clear the bonus:

Real money wagered doesn't count towards betting requirements, only bonus money
Real money is always used before bonus money for bets
Can't clear the bonus without real money in the account.

So the only way to clear the bonus is to YOLO the entire account 6 times in a row, or maybe bet all the real money on something way in the future and bet the rest as usual?

Anyways I cashed out all my money

That's a great bet. None of the three sports books I use have that available (BetMGM, FanDuel, and DraftKings).

Also a little annoyed I can't find a place to bet missed PATs at Over 0.5.

I had $100 of funbucks at MGM, so I made a shitload of little prop bets:
    • Pat Mahomes Pass Attempts Over 41.5 (+105)
    • Pat Mahomes Pass Attempts Over 44.5 (+210)
    • Pat Mahomes Pass Completions Over 28.5 (+110)
    • Pat Mahomes Pass Completions Over 33.5 (+450)
    • Pat Mahomes Pass Touchdowns Over 2.5 (-135)
    • Tom Brady Passing Yards Under 300.5 (-110)
    • Tom Brady Interceptions Exactly 1 (+170) -- preferred hedging these two rather than just going Over 0.5 at -165
    • Tom Brady Interceptions Exactly 2 (+450)
    • Travis Kelce Receptions Over 7.5 (-135)
    • Rob Gronkowski Receptions Over 2.5 (-105)
    • Tyreek Hill Longest Reception Over 26.5 (-125)
    • Total Rushing Yards in Game Under 182.5 (-110)
    • Ronald Jones II Rushing Yards Under 35.5 (-110)
    • Darrell Williams Rushing Attempts Under 7.5 (-130)
    • Leonard Fournette Receiving Yards Over 27.5 (-105)
    • Leonard Fournette Receptions Over 3.5 (-140)
    • Chiefs to Win and Both Teams Score Over 20 Points (+135)
    • Chiefs to Win and Under 56.5 (+200)
    • Successful 2-Point Conversion by Either Team (+225)
    • Longest Field Goal Under 46.5 Yards (-115)

Based on these bets, Mahomes will play like trash and Brady will have the greatest game of his career.

I have a google sheet where I log bets. It gives me a daily update on bankroll, autocalculates unit size for the next day, lets me do some basic analysis of betting after the fact.

Mostly it just helps me get mad at particular teams who I’m a heavy loser on.

real interesting prop bet. if we're looking at it from a QB injury, mahomes says his toe is nearly 100% complete, but who knows what that really means or how that will show up during an actual game. brady is old but he also rarely gets sacked/hit. neither does mahomes.

if we look at it from a trick play perspective, tampa bay didn't run any plays this year that resulting in a throw by anyone other than brady or blaine gabbert.. and although KC had 3-4 throws that weren't QBs, they didn't run a non-mahomes trick play pass in last year's superbowl.

buttttttt neither the patriots nor the eagles ran a non-QB play all year but they both threw with a WR in SB LII

if i could make the bet i'd probably take the same

Doh! Thought the other thread was this one. Reposting.

Managed to make over $300 on the game on like 40 bets. Ten were hedges on the coin flip to qualify for $800 in bonuses on two accounts (which I explicitly asked if it was okay for two members of the same household to use the promotion and they said yes). All said and done, once these pay out over the next few weeks I will be at $3k positive since starting sports betting for the first time two weeks ago.
