Hammerstone is profoundly boring and had one of the lamest twitter presences a year ago.

Didn't Hammerstone use a slur for cheap heat during a match and then throw a twitter fit about how "you can't heel anymore"? e: there at least three wrestlers who did this in 2019 that I unfollowed on Twitter because they did this and I think he was one. Hammerstone was decent from what I saw of him in NOAH but having good matches with Go Shiozaki and Naomichi Marufuji isn't a huge achievement

I saw Hammerstone on an indie show when he had long hair. The crowd chanted Triple H at him. Then he won via Pedigree. The building popped hard.

He should change his name to Armie Hammerstone and do the cannibal gimmick.

Mid-90's, unless I'm mistaken. Cornette was working exclusively for the WWF by 97, possibly a year or so earlier.

Had a look, and Cornette had been working with the WWF since 1993 (I'd legit forgotten he'd started managing Yokozuna since around the Lex Express American Hero Lex Luger feud), and used this to get some WWF talent to appear on SMW. That period had some wild appearances though. I remember watching a Michinoku Pro match from around 95 or 96, where Hakushi took on Undertaker.

Jumping on the Hammerstone stuff from earlier he broke Savior Vega's legs with his finisher. He was also a massive rear end in a top hat to the fans at a local indie show where he's the champion. I believe the plan last Feb/March before COVID was to have Will Hobbs beat him for the title
