I honestly thought it was dog-ee as a play on both “e-coin” and “doggy” but then I pronounced it once and was mercilessly mocked by a couple coworkers

Hopefully now you can avoid that indignity

I was corrected to doe-juh but I’m too afraid to say it out loud so who knows

I like that line of thought but yeah the "doge" meme pre-dates the coin by a bit so unfortunately no

I've been wondering why this discussion is even something which needed to take place.

The U.S. EPA, which classifies inorganic arsenic as a group A human carcinogen, sets a daily limit at 10 μg/L from drinking water (the most frequent route of exposure). There is no U.S. standard for arsenic in food

It used to be doggy with the meme. Then the meme got memed by attaching an obviously stupid pronunciation to the "cute doge" meme.

Or buy parboiled rice. Already boiled once so it removes some of the arsenic and preserves more of the thiamin, niacin, biotin and pantothenic acid compared to white rice. In my experience it never turns out gummy either, which is good.
