I don't give a poo poo about lockdown rules or whatever, I haven't been working from home and self isolating for the past year because the loving tory government told me to I'm doing it because this way my loved ones and other peoples loved ones are less at risk of catching a deadly disease. We've already discussed how unhelpful police intervention would likely be and I don't think the people fretting about ruining this guys career vs. The potential threat of this guy being a super spreader are going down the slippery slope towards calling the gestapo on their Trans neighbors tbqh.

The tricks I saw pulled last year to prevent the left taking over Manchester central CLP is one of the many final straws that drove me to quit (first vote was invalidated because "discrepancies were raised", and they "didn't have enough paper and pens" to do it again, everyone attending was dismissed, old chair kept her seat by default). Bless the Ancoats comrades, they're going to try again soon, but I just don't have the heart or the membership card for it anymore.

I'm not going to suggest that all NHS staff need to strictly follow guidelines on pain of jail and/or having their professional registration revoked, but medics are in a different situation from, say, a Physiotherapist. If for no other reason than that the government pays for their training. It pays for their basic training, and then it pays for their training in whatever specialism they The 2018 pay deal hosed over most qualified staff, but doctors weren't included, and managed to get a much better deal from the govt than everyone else. (Bear in mind that at the moment - as always - qualified nurses in hospitals are being supported by nursing students. Students who are paying £10k per year in fees so that they can be put at high risk of danger (and then earn £11.20 per hour for the privilege while they're on placement, so that they're insured in case they die).) Basically, any UK-trained doctor working in the NHS is there because the taxpayer has paid for them to be there. Personally, I think that means they have an additional responsibility towards public health - and their contract will say something similar - so I take a dim view of those who decide that the rules don't apply to them. Would I shop someone I knew in to the GMC if they were breaching restrictions? It probably depends how much of a oval office they were being about it.
