Yeah that's what Republicans say their politics are because it sounds not very right wing, you could have a party that actually believed that stuff and only that stuff but then it wouldn't be right wing. Their actual politics is "we want local control so Texas can abuse gays, but not local local control so Austin Texas can decriminalize homelessness or raise the minimum wage or ban plastic bags or or or" What they want is only control by them, governments that they control should be maximally authoritarian and powerful, bigger/smaller governments they don't control should be hands-off/subservient respectively.

The average monthly payment is around $1500 per https://www.fool.com/retirement/2020/12/13/heres-the-average-social-security-benefit-by-age/ or $18k/yr, and it's very unlikely they were paying in 140/yr at the start, so they're getting more than they deserve. Time to cut those checks in half! (Ask him who gets the money when those paying into the system die young. Then ask him what happens when everyone lives 10% longer. Bonus points if you ask the same questions for "IBM stock and dividends".)

Anyone else seeing a dearth of forwards about the Texas crisis? It makes sense - I looked at Breitbart, WND, OANN, none of them are putting any emphasis on this, some even ignoring it on their front page altogether. I think chuds don't actually know what's happening there. Edit: I mean, apart from some random stuff about wind turbines, but even that is not up to the volume one might expect. This whole situation is being extremely downplayed in right wing news.

My stepdad (currently in New Mexico) posts daily about 10-15 dumbass memes, and since this started he has not posted a single one referring to Texas. Where his wife, my mother, currently lives. With no power. In the cold. You'd think he had a personal interest in this, but that's not what their meming is for, is it. This pisses me off far more than his general chuddery.

You gotta give him a minute, memes about how this is all the fault of California hippies, butt-loving, wind power, and Democrats in Austin take time to be developed and spread through Boomer Facebook groups. Memes don't grow on trees ya know.

I was gonna say give them time. With Rush Limbaugh being dead it's going to take some time for them to get their smart rear end burns and stupid talking points in order, given that big fat vacuum he left. It would usually take 24-48 hours anyway until I started to hear all the conservabots at work repeating the same memes in the lunchroom. I expect when it comes (and it will), it'll be something along the lines of what you wrote and have something to do with green energy, regulations and all the people from California moving to Texas. Certainly it won't be the fault of the state's conservative government and, even if it is, then that just goes to prove how bad government works so check and mate, libtards.

The only thing I have seen is non-Texas people telling people in Texas to not turn on their generators unless they love pipelines or mining. Other than that and the “I support American oil from American soil” bs, it is pretty quiet about these things.
