This used to be a powerful thread, with thousands of posts.

Now bitcoin (the stupid, automated ponzi scheme) breaks 50$ with nay a comment.

The laughchain suffers from a condition where it is difficult to get more laughs, because all the stupidity has been witnessed.

Any ideas why mastercard decided to touch the poop?

Yeah, most of the easy laffs were mined earlier, now it's just the one guy with brain problems yelling at his imaginary construct of goons being jealous of him, rather than lol'ing at buttcoins.

Probably it was either being worn down by nagging or bitcoin appearing to provide a return compared to other assets lately, between both general capitalism, and the fact that you may have noticed people are cooped up lately.

I read an article of some kind about how even the very successful people nowadays are often miserable, stressed, and do not seem to get any enjoyment from their success-- not even the "I got the highest score! YEAH!" feeling often imputed to the yuppies of the 1980s etc.

Not even the rich are enjoying themselves.

It's really impressive. I've never seen someone with so fragile an ego yet claiming to be so impossibly rich, that they feel incredibly threatened by people who literally aren't even a threat. BitcoinPearl clutching.

There are a lot of people who have strong hangups rooted in the desire for positive regard from their father, or a father-surrogate. I don't know how achievable this is but it's not unachievable so people get hung up on it - often in deep rooted ways. You see this exaggerated sometimes in films or in shows, the super-wealthy who does not have the ability to move on, who ultimately just wants their father (perhaps now dead, and unable to do so) to say "You did good, kid. I love you."

Many people also enter in passionate relationships with a sort of composite image coming from a social media feed of whatever sort - even a forums post can have this happen. You can see this from people who yell about "the thread hive-mind," as opposed to "the general consensus of posters in this thread" - which you probably can discern, describe similar things, but the heat behind them is very different.

I believe in Seraph, the two factors combine. We are Seraph84's daddy.
