I think he tried to take the turn, and the vehicle stopped at the light on the other side of the tracks blocked his turn. Yeah, he hosed himself. It looks like since they had to swing wide to both get around the guards and make a right turn the truck ended up moving toward the opposing lane in the street on the right. Unfortunately there was a car in that lane stopped at the light. Driver hoped he was going to make the turn or the other car moved I guess.
