Wanted to publicly thank Plinkey (again) because he’s doing the lord’s work and everyone involved is an angel-goon. I got an email warning/bill from my power company (yay green paperless) saying they were gonna turn off my electricity because with everything happening all at once I have literally forgot because I’ve been scraping by on literal change the last few months. So I’m in the hospital (again), wife is at home recovering from a major surgery with just plain rice and running out of meds and we have literally $4 in cash that’s it and I don’t get paid until March. Plinkey saved our power not getting turned off (and my wife’s pain medication) and I literally started crying. It was over such a small amount for two months of electricity. Plinkey I don’t know how you manage to keep up the energy for all this but you’re saving lives and asses and in my humble opinion a literal hero. Thank you thank you, and thank you goons who donate. If I can, I plan to dump some of my tax refund in as a Real Thank You for saving my rear end. edit: i say “literal” a lot and i am sorry

Most MuAid are always looking for help of the non-monetary kind as well and it’s a way, in a sort of way, to pay it forward a little while you focus on getting yourself unstuck from your rut. (Another Obviously but please do not feel like you Must Do the above because you got help. It’s just an option for my fellow “oh god other people need this more than me” feelers that it might help you... not feel that way maybe. Also if this is Not Okay plinks let me know and I will edit it out)

so we're back from the vet. luckily this time was only $54.00, so I think we're good on that front. The vet did an ultrasound to look for stones and found none, and his bladder is very small meaning he peed recently and his urethra isn't blocked. His vitals are fine, he seems to be in no danger of dying before monday. They think that what happened is that, because he had an exciting day today and yesterday - we took him outside on a leash for the first time in a while, and our friends moved and brought some new furniture they were getting rid of - he aggravated his bladder which he strained before, and it caused a urathral/bladder spasm. These are extremely, super painful, and would be a reasonable explanation for why a cat would suddenly start screaming. and I mean he was YOWLING at the top of his lungs over and over again. I've never heard anything like it from any cat before. He was SO distressed and in so much pain. We instantly stopped what we were doing and ran out the door with him to the e-vet as soon as it started happening because it was SO freaky and scary. We really thought he HAD to be dying because if a human was making sounds equivalent to that I'd assume they had just been shot or had a bone broken. He's now passed out on drugs. we're taking him to the normal vet monday.

with everyone having so many emergencies (especially cat ones  ) I can’t in good conscience ask for a few bucks for food, let alone the $1000 I need now in order to make rent, thanks cancer for coming back! I made a GoFundMe to try to make rent and bills, and if by a miracle I surpass my goal I’m gonna dump leftovers into Plinkey’s venmo, even if it’s just a dollar.EWB not saying that you shouldn’t ask for help by any means, but have you considered a GFM as well? At worst you continue getting help from goons in here  Not religious but catch me praying for y’all’s cats anyways. Good luck and goon bless.

Emailing Plinkey this fine morning. Right now I am in between jobs again and had to cut down my giving to the fund. And now I need to request some help. Hopefully things will get okay again and I can recoup and start giving more to the fund again. Thankfully I have access to free healthcare (but not free meds) and a foodbank nearby, so it is the medication and utility bills that are the big gaps that went unpaid in February, with no hopes of paying in March with the job situation still totally stopped. Bracing for my roommate moving out soon too, in the near-ish but maddeningly uncertain future and my only goal for 2021 is to not experience homelessness (again).

I am fortunate that my parents are able and willing to help us through this financially, as pets have always been important as any other part of the family to us, but it will likely cost at or around $4000 in total, and I cannot imagine having to go through this without their help because the other option is simply letting him die. gently caress.
