Shadow Tactics for $4 is a very good deal. Yes, Desperados 3 is slightly better overall, but it's still excellent.

Yo, Shadow Tactics is 90% off. :stare:

I was gonna skip it and just get Desperados 3 (eventually) but that is a deeeeeeep discount you rarely see these days.

It is very good, and Desperados 3 is mostly more of the same, with minor improvements. In some ways, Shadow Tactics might be a little better even.

I felt that D3 was an improvement in every way, but $4 vs $50? D3 is not $46 better than Shadow Tactics :v:

Hello everyone! First of all, we are sorry that the game development was postponed. Our company was going through bankruptcy, and it took us a while to admit it and put ourselves back together after such a hit. All this time, we were thinking and planning how we are going to fix Freeman. During the development process, the game gradually drifted away from our original idea because new members joined and the hierarchy of power shifted. But now, only the most original members of KK will be working on the Freeman remake, and we are confident that we will bring a satisfying final result to you.

Currently, we are finalizing the design, and once we are done with that, we will share it with you.

Like HZD, Days Gone is being published by Sony and they're putting it straight on Steam

I speculate that Days Gone could have even more launch issues that HZD did. It’s also not nearly as good in general.

Agree, I'd say the story is better in Shadow Tactics. I also thought the increase in difficulty over the course of the campaign was also slightly better executed in STS, but that's very subjective. Otherwise Desperados III is the better game.

HZDs engine was never originally designed to run on PC, while Days Gone is Unreal Engine 4

I can't speak to whether it's a good game though

Kojima Productions did a drat good job with the Death Stranding port, so the engine isn't necessarily the problem here. Horizon was allegedly outsourced to another studio (supposedly Virtuos, who mostly do Switch ports and art outsourcing?), so the process might have gone south there.

The turnaround on HZD was relatively fast at least, and now it's a really solid port. I guess if you're dying to play Days Gone maybe give it a day or two to see what shape it's in.

There was a patch for HZD that nearly doubled my frame rate and basically defucked the whole thing, so it’s completely possible that if days gone launches as a mess Sony will have it fixed. I think they know that a few early bad launches could really kill the potential of the PC market for them.

I think I did like the banter and development of the relationships between the characters better in Shadow Tactics - with the most surprising thing being that I actually cared about something like that in a game like that, where I would normally only care about the gamplay.

Yeah, Death Strandings PC version was supposedly in the works for a very long time though (Kojipro let slip that DS was coming to PC before the PS4 version even launched) so they had plenty of time to rework the engine

Playing "loud" felt much more viable in D3 than ST though. So you only have to be a ninja cowboy if you wanna be. You can also be a rootin' tootin' shootin' one for much of the game.

Funny, I’m not sure Overcooked benefits from an HD remake. All those shadows and textures make the frantic gameplay seem like it would be less legible.

HZD is better than Days Gone, but I really enjoyed both, Days Gone is solid. It has a really satisfying gameplay loop, the combat is satisfying, and the zombie "freakers" are pretty creepy in their jerky movements and sounds and the way a group of them can swarm is super impressive and scary.

It's going to be both Overcooked 1 and 2 in one package. The first game only had local multiplayer so with the new release it will be possible to play online with friends (cross platform too!) without having to use Remote Play Together.

And I think the remastered visuals look nice

It's not like this game has any small elements you might have harder time noticing with higher fidelity visuals.

People probably answered but I would say Ghost of Tsushima if you like open world, The last of us/uncharted series if you like linear adventure type games. Uncharted imo gets so underrated, I think it is as good as TLOU but for some reason people make TLOU to be some untouchable masterpiece. Spiderman and God of War although I haven't played those 2 yet.

For the obvious chaos the development went through it came out surprisingly fine but it is also severely stretched out for what it has to do. Unfinished in some important areas too, not in a breaking way, just in a obvious and occasionally hilarious way. You better really, really enjoy that loop in the first couple hours because that’s the same loop you’ll be doing until near the very end of the game.

Yeah I'm generally burnt out on open world 3rd person action games with light rpg elements, and can't really name one particular thing Ghost of Tsushima does differently, but it was really enjoyable for some reason. Maybe it felt a little more cinematic and less "gamey" than Ubisoft stuff? Either way, it's pretty solid, and I could see it being a candidate for a PC port. Less convinced on God of War, Uncharted, or TLOU going to any platform other than Playstation though.

Not entirely, Foregone is a linear action game and not a roguelite, with hand crafted levels and conventional gear. as for the art, it actually uses lo-poly 3D models that have been intentionally de-rezzed and aliased, but yeah it's definitely a similar aesthetic

drat, that's a surprising discount on Shadow Tactics. For 5 years they've stubbornly resisted lowering the price or deeply discounting it.

geneforge has always been my favorite spiderweb series and the first game especially is super cool, but its jankiness/lack of quality-of-life made it hard to go back to (having to individually use 10+ lockpicks to open a door, anyone?) so im super hype about this remake
