lol oshkosh is making them https://twitter.com/EricLiptonNYT/status/1364438716144635906 And Microcenter rules. Consistently $5-10 more expensive than Amazon in a lot of cases, but it's a loving great place and I've bought family/friends like six laptops from there. They never did have that great of stock on high-end GPUs, but now nobody does

Yeah, that looks like it has WAY better visibility than the LLV. Probably also has working heating/AC as well.

Paul barrel is good gun tube IMO. Very good dry humor and concise presentation, and great side stories. Also loving gutted about fry's but I've snuck over there a couple times since 2020 and it's been dead; and a year before that they stopped stocking new memory modules and processors so I knew it was dying.

Its not even that, but also basically that it falls in line with new acquisition thinking (although unclear with Roper gone/leaving now) which prioritizes quicker upgrades. NGADF has already been ops tested and the use of digital engineering will (THEORETICALLY) speed up the build/acq/test cycle to get you a new-ish capability every decade. I don't know Axe either but a proposal like what Gen Brown is talking about would be very similar to the F-15EX, where you bring on a bridging capability that provides something the F-35/F-22 can't, which in the F-15EX's case is being a missile/bomb truck, and in this case could literally just be a buy of F-16 Block 60s or 70s which are great aircraft that I would like to buy thank you very much This article from last September talks about all of this pretty straightforwardly: https://www.defensenews.com/breakin...re-fighter-jet/

The problem with the F-22 and F-35 is that they're designed to be doorkickers against near-peers or adversaries with AAD. Now they want a new-build "lightweight fighter?" gently caress that bullshit. Even though Boeing doesn't deserve the money right now for all the fuckups they're guilty of, just give the Air Force more F-15EXs. I keep waiting for the issues with the F-35B and -C to come to light, chiefly, how to keep the coatings on a stealth aircraft viable in a highly corrosive saltwater environment. I dunno what's worse, the fact that they believe the US government has weather controlling ability, and yet decided to not use it on other natural disasters, or they believe texas is so deserving of punishment for being a bastion of freedom that similar red states did not have their lovely electrical infrastructure destroyed by unmeltable snow. It's delusion of grandeur or delusion in the ability of the US government.

F-35 development was a huge financial shitshow but the current per unit cost is almost reasonable (and is mostly due to small quantity buys) and the performance is actually as great as it was supposed to be. Lot more money to be sunk into the cockpit UX but the plane itself is real good
