All I know from this is Scarlet Witch is scary as hell, Vision 2.0 is out there logic'ing his way through what he's learned. The show was called WandaVision so it seems to have fit what its name was. I liked it for being about Wanda and Vision.

ShakeZula posted:To your second point, am I crazy or was the whole "Wanda should've apologized" thing actually addressed? When Agatha wakes everybody up and they all confront Wanda, she runs through her whole spiel about how she wasn't hurting anyone and they were all safe and happy in the Hex. When they tell her it was a nightmare and beg to be released, she apologizes and agrees to release them. I was honestly surprised any of them were still around at the end, since I assumed when she opened the gates and they all ran away that they made it out. She did all that, but then Agatha made her realize that shutting down the Hex would kill her new family, so she shut the gates again. Presumably none of the townsfolk had super-speed save Ralph. So, they had to come back until she ended the Hex for real. And it killed her family. swickles posted:Still disappointed Agatha didn't get the death penalty for killing Sparky. Well, she kind of got worse. She gets stuffed into her fake Wandaverse TV persona until/unless Wanda needs to ask her about something. So, the Hell Wanda put everybody else through semi-accidentally, she deliberately did to Agatha. And instead of it just lasting maybe a week or month or so, it's possibly forever (it won't be because Kathryn Hahn, but still). I'd call Sparky's death pretty well avenged by an Avenger. Especially since he was most likely a fake Wanda doggie anyway.

Disappointed but not really surprised. I've been saying all along that Wandavision felt like a monster-of-the-week episode of the X-Files, only inexplicably stretched out over 9 episodes instead of maybe doing a tight 2-parter. You knew what the plot would be immediately after they announced the premise -- Wanda is traumatized and subconsciously created a false reality with Vision, and slowly realizes what she's doing and tragically says goodbye to him all over again. And it pretty much played out exactly like that, with no swerves or twists or anything to justify stretching a pretty basic story out over 9 episodes. Agatha was fun, I guess, but it's basically a pointless B-plot: there's an evil witch caught in the reality too, but she doesn't really do anything and it just means there's a couple combat scenes before Wanda eventually breaks down the Hex. Just meh all around. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if they'd cut it down to 60 or even 90 minutes.

Enjoyed it from beginning to end, some of you guys are goony af, never change. I very much prefer the weekly release format to all at once, the thread wouldn't be half as fun if it were all released in one day.

And I was just waiting the whole time for them to do SOMETHING interesting with it.

Yea like its fun to speculate and point out easter eggs, but there is a whole industry of people who take everything as some deep meaning that has major ramifications for the wider media. "In episode 3 Wanda uses a 1H pencil, the same kind that Dani Moonstar used to draw a picture of a dog in New Mutants issue 34, so therefor the New Mutants are going to 100% be in the show" is the kind of crap that is being pumped out and people eat it up because this poo poo is so popular and they're starved for it. When it was just trailers you can temper wild speculation because everyone knows that trailers are super misleading, but with a weekly show, there is a full 7 days to fill with speculation and people need to make money with their content so having videos that people watch helps, and not to mention everyone wants to be the one who figures it out.

Yea that's the problem, there are people who get way too hyped up on these things and they go from theories to expectations to what basically amounts to demands that what they're imagining in their head is what is going to happen 100%. Plus they have the advantage of making it perfect in their mind, and no one can create what someone else imagines in their head perfectly. Some people just are incapable of accepting anything less. The series should have ended with an ENDING EXPLAINED! directed and narrated by Kathryn Hahn (incl 5 minute promotion of Raid Shadow Legends), like and subscribe, "thanks to my patreons" with the credits screen where Hahn has to read out every name. Episode thumbnail has Agnes doing the wink and big smile from the 70s episode.

Are we allowed to dislike the ending while also not having any particular theory or twist we were expecting? Or is that not allowed "I didn't like it" 'YOU'RE JUST MAD YOUR GOONY THEORY DIDN'T COME TRUE, STOP READING INTO STUFF SO MUCH' "what theory?" I don't even know who tf Nightmare is and won't care until they put him in a marvel vs capcom game. Blaise330 fucked around with this message at 07:46 on Mar 6, 2021 |

Glad I finally watched the episode, since my YouTube is starting to fill up with clips of the episode. Spoilers, Youtube! Ending was fine. I had in mind that image that detailed the coming up phases, from back in 2020, and that ideally we would've had Black Widow, Falcon and Winter Soldier, Eternals and Shang-Chi BEFORE WandaVision, so we're getting a part of the narrative way before we were supposed to. Also, Dr. Strange 2 would've been just a couple of months away. Blaise330 posted:Are we allowed to dislike the ending while also not having any particular theory or twist we were expecting? Agatha got a raw deal. Saved a town of people from the mind control off a very powerful tantrum, then gets mind wiped for it while the prison who literally enslaved a while town just flys away. Also why did the general get arrested? For shooting imaginary people?

I get the impression that Disney probably didn't intend WandaVision to be such a big deal similarly to The Mandalorian, just with covid pushing their schedule back it's basically the only content they got in the trough ready to go.

Loki sets one foot on Earth and it's DEFCON 1 , but Wanda does this and doesn't even merit a Sanctum *intern* to show up to ask what's going on? Odin was just chilling in Norway waiting to die and it was implied even he had to check in with Strange. Only thing I can think of is "Agatha cloaked it from their sight/noticing," but you'd think after Wanda drained her powers, they'd all be and port there instantly.

Did all the people who kramer into the thread with a hot take along the lines of "Well, guess being mean to a protagonist is illegal now!!!" actually watch the show? The guy stole the remains of Vision, doctored footage to frame Wanda for it, and resurrected a man whose dying wish was to not be "rebuilt". The entire reason that Vision signed the Sokovian Accords was that it would grant him personhood, and therefore the right to chooes to not be repaired if he died as if he were just a broken machine. edit: spoiler tags added in accordance with the 72 hour accords SirSamVimes fucked around with this message at 09:13 on Mar 6, 2021 |
