Call of Duty does this in reverse. Using white phosphorous is a fun and competitive skill streak award in multiplayer, and you're cheered on for using it in single player, but if you kill a single civilian with a gun then the game boots you back to the main menu.

the only way i'd consider play cod mutliplayer is if I could be a civilian and run around getting people booted

finished 13 sentinels last night, platinum trophy too, wow; for the first hour or so I thought I had been tricked into playing yet another anime high school game but thankfully it was much, much more than that. I will say that the combat on normal difficulty was really easy, especially for the first few areas which I totally breezed past with my best friend, Sentry Gun

Humans are weird. I was just thinking about how dope Red Dead Online is because it's basically a big chill nature sim and how almost nobody at all plays it, and instead people play things they gladly describe as "lovely boring grinds" because those games have Number Go Up

Number Go Up just doesn't do it for me. Am I the weird one??

It's a matter of perspective, I guess. I live in a big ol' forest the size of a small country, when I want to just walk through nature, I go outside. It's the better experience. Numbers Go Up is something only video games do, though.

I found every level up to and including the last couple was easily S Ranked by having one person who constantly dropped Sentry Gun, one person with a Long Range gently caress You attack, and one person who could wade in and Demolisher Blade the big boys

IIRC the WP discussion was one of the rakes the CEO stepped into when doing interviews, he was saying stuff like "The guys didn't tell me they saw it over there so that's why you can't do it because we don't know if it happened, we only deal in facts here!"

those games function like casinos mixed with drug dealers. on the big gaming subreddits there's a constant flow of posts from people "burnt out on videogames" or they literally have trouble playing normal videogames that don't have an addictive, exploitative, dragon to chase.

you're not the weird one, you just haven't overdosed on casinodruggames, stay clean and you'll be good. just gotta learn to say "no" when someone comes up to you in a dirty alleyway offering you this new "free" game that's "actually not that bad if..."

are there any scenes in that game where you just kill iraqi civilians while your squadmates point and laugh or is the focus more on how hard it is to be a member of an invading foreign military

to S-rank the penultimate level I literally just had Ogata and Hijiyama Leap Attack their way straight to the boss and Demolisher Blade until dead, it was over so quickly - there are definitely some incredibly cheap strategies you can use!

The very concept of warcrimes is predicated on the idea, that lots of people still buy into, that there's a such thing as a legitimate war or invasion but that there are acts that you're not supposed to do in them. Intentionally shooting civilians as opposed to combatants is one of those things that's supposed to be beyond the pale, as are the usage of certain weapons or even the treatment of combatants.

palm springs was good, and yeah, watching movies alone isn't great, especially bad ones. A bad movie can be fun with the right people. A good movie alone is just like, you ain't got nobody to say "oh poo poo" to.

The idea is that war is bad enough already without actively choosing to be monstrous about it as well.

you could do worse, if you want to play a non pokemon monster battling game + like monhan monsters. its very simplistic compared to even like a level 5 game

It's because even by war violence standards using white phosphorus is cruel and heinous. What white phosphorus does to a human body is on an entirely separate level from what a bullet does.

The only fun mode in Cold War, is where one team is turned into regular everyday objects and has to run around the map and hide.
