It's less to fight with, more people way ahead of their time on doing dumb TikTok stunts. The general category includes almost anything with a chain involved. Agricultural flails were used in peasant uprisings sometimes, but weren't that good at it and most historical examples west and east were the long-hafted type easier to keep your fingers out of the way of. The fantasy RPG ball and chain type maybe never existed outside of Victorian recreations.

Amateurs use a guillotine. Attach a chain to a small version of one so you can throw it onto people's heads and decapitate as many as you want from afar. I call it the Pro-Tine, for long chain polymur(der). Kidding of course. I did not invent the Flying Guillotine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lERgO79rb9E

I was gonna say Michaelangelo's nunchucks were conspicuously absent from the close-up of all of their weapons but then at the very end they're front and center when the Technodrome pops up. That little oversight could have erupted the entire island into violence, very irresponsible

Fun fact: the entire SA forums are operating as a door game on an SBBS somewhere in Indiana (Brazil). There's a 1/4 000 000 chance (thanks, Radium!) that when you try to log on, you'll get Tradewars 2002 instead of the forums. You can still send node messages to users in the system proper if you know the right URL.
