I don't think a waffle belongs in a sandwich. But other than that, there's just the general fact that english food is the least visually appealing regional cuisine in the world.

Baked beans are great in jaffles, the whole sealed edges thing is kind of critical. I can't imagine not wearing half the bean drippings if you tired to eat it in sandwich form
