They're stiff so that the sensation travels down the whisker to the nerves? Though I imagine cutting them would be very uncomfortable still. Note: I have never cut my cat's whiskers. readingatwork posted:Robbie and Bobby I love this drat weird comic. It uses profanity quite well, making it rare enough to surprise you.

Classic Kevin & Kell (February 28 - March 3, 2000) One thing I appreciate about Holbrook is that his stance on political and social issues (like, say, economics and gentrification) is quite clear, even in these early strips. riderchop posted:Monty I was going to nit-pick that Britain didn't have mask mandates during the 1918 flu - and in fact all face coverings and scarves were discouraged there for hygiene reasons - but in the process of due diligence I discovered that some American cities that did have mask mandates also used custodian helmets as part of their police uniforms until at least the 1910s. So possibly good research work here by Meddick?

Holbrook basically turned her into Richie Rich. We've seen her live frugally in modern K&K, so I guess Holbrook wrote her wealth away at some point. It's gonna be something exceptionally stupid, that's for sure.

It's a minor nitpick, but Lars writes Snorkmaiden a bit OOC. Everything about the Lars Moomin feels slightly off-model. It's like those mid-era Simpsons seasons where the episodes weren't terrible the way they are now, but they were clearly lesser works compared to the first half dozen seasons.
