Great moment for Meadow at the end of S2 episode 3 (Toodle-loving-Oo) as she scrubs the floor of the house. It shows that she is different from most characters in the show and has a conscience.

She's quite happy to toss it overboard by series end, though.

Is it generally worth listening to now? As much as I like Imperioli, the few episodes I've caught were completely dependent on good guests to make it worthwhile.

Watching the podcast ep about University now, Tracee is almost unrecognizable in a good way. Those fake teeth/braces really did a number on her. And she's surprisingly insightful and a good listen considering she wound up quitting acting shortly after and became a yoga instructor

Yeah, we get to watch her make the choice Carmela already made.

The reveal that she's been gaslighting Finn for at least a year is still so hosed up. Up until she tells Carmela and Rosalie about Vito, you're led to believe that she doesn't want to face reality and is refusing to even consider that Finn is telling the truth about Vito, or even Eugene. Then she spills the beans and you realize that she was just "protecting the family" all along and watching as he was paranoid and miserable every time he had to be around those people.

Yeah, it's still really kind of all over the place for me but I still listen and put into my shuffle. I actually enjoy the Drea de Matteo one more overall but they've gone dark for a while now after doing S1.

Random observations for me about Talkin Sopranos:

- Inconsistent sound quality, especially early ones
- WAAAY too many ads
- Great guests and interviews. A real highlight every time.
- Jeez...Every single actor is "amazing" and "does a fantastic job" - which is actually pretty true but the gushing gets tiresome. I get why they don't want to bag anyone but, man.
- The gushing gets tiresome
- Imperiolli is funny with his fascination with conspiracy stuff. I feel like I know him better as a person
- Occasionally they'll make me think of something I'd never considered before about an episode or plot point
- Sometimes they seem totally in the dark about an obvious plot point
- Listening to Schirripa, I feel like he was basically playing himself on this show
- Milton Berle's huge horse apple headed cock getting its own running gag

I never thought I'd be a podcast guy but I guess its different listening to people who have actually done something in this world rather than talentless piles of white privilege discussing cartoons or whatever.

The ads are a lot to handle though. For actors you think they could be better salesmen. The viagra edible :flaccid:

They're not. And you're right, it would. Except with Schirripa, I can barely tell the fuckin' difference. Ohhhh.....!

I guess they need the money as much as any B level actor might right now so that's fine. I haven't seen either of them exactly tearing up the screen in the last 20 years so, ok, I guess. But the ads are not only lovely...they're really loving LOOOONNNGGG. Online shrinks, boner pills, Blue Chef type stuff...

Did any cast member go on to have much of a prominent acting career after The Sopranos? Excepting Edie Falco (and Drea de Matteo for a while) they almost never seem to pop up.

Ainsley McTree

One of the big revelations on my rewatch was re-learning how much Meadow kind of sucks (ethically/morally, I mean, I have nothing but praise for her performance). For whatever reason, the last thing I remembered about her arc from my first watch of the show was her working for legal aid, so I guess my brain assumed that's where she landed at the end of the series but lol no, not quite huh

Also that suitcase scene was so infuriating; Finn is very understandably freaked out because he credibly believes Vito wants to kill him, and when he tries to talk about it (you know, in accordance with his process) she gaslights him and calls him a racist basically. Not to say that Finn is a paragon of maturity in that scene either, but you can't really blame him for being a little tense!

One thing I do wonder though; what would have happened if Finn had gone to to the baseball game? Like him, I assumed it was a euphemism for murder, but then we cut to the game and Vito just looks like he wants to have fun. Maybe everything would have been fine after all

Outside of the random extras who went on to have real careers(Will Arnett, Paul Dano, Lady Gaga), the people who were established actors beforehand(Joey Pants, Steve Buscemi) and Gandolfini who died way too young not really.

I saw Vincent Pastore in the really bad Guy Richie "artistic" action movie Revolver where I think he and Andre 3000 turn out to be figments of Jason Statham's imagination.

Not really, but it was a cast primarily comprised of character actors to begin with. I think they all kept working exactly as much as they had been in secondary roles.

He would've been fine. Vito wouldn't kill the boss's daughter's boyfriend unless he was absolutely insanely desperate.

Vincent Pastore is one of those guys that will do anything. One of the first movies he did after the Sopranos was Return to Sleepaway Camp in which he's obsessed with his pet bird and then has his head shoved into the bird cage but now it's full of rats. And, as I've said, he was rude to anyone at the con that was just there for an autograph and a photo and didn't want to buy any of his mousepads or hats.
