Darkseid is best when he's portrayed as if genuinely believing no matter what he's already won. Like there's literally an episode of JLA where Superman just beats his rear end on Apokalypse in front of everyone and the people just rush to him to carry him off home and he smugly says 'here I'm a god' despite literally just losing the fight and whatever his dumb plan of the week was. He doesn't NEED to destroy earth and poo poo, it's just a fun bonus.

Michael Ironside came back to play Darkseid in the Harley Quinn show and he's one of the best things in a show made of great things. He speaks in third person too which makes him funnier.
