i started playing planescape torment to try and scratch the disco elysium itch and i would love to yell and scream at whoever decided to put regenerating auto-aggro enemies and dice roll combat in this story game for literally no benefit or reason.

i played that game as was intended, putting all my stats into wisdom and intelligence and sleeping through the combat with overpowered late game dnd spells

I wish I never learned that the guy on the cover of Planescape Torment was one of the producers who had to fill in because the model never showed up and they were already booked for a shoot. Makes me lol every time I think about the game.

news came in that the model had a scheduling conflict and would not make it. While we were sitting around the office and wondered what to do, someone looked at me and said, “Maybe you should be the model.” I thought it was joke at first but everyone in the room looked at me and went, “Yeah, why don’t you?”

It's actually one of those things I kind of miss about older games, you'd just use your friends for stuff instead of hiring Hollywood actors for everything

Its not so much that the combat ia difficult in pst So much as it is bad u know. You can tell its basically an afterthought since the nameless one can power thru everyone solo almost even as a thief thanks to the tats and his weird skills. Plus the skull being able to do stuff like use his irresistable paralysis powers even on liches and poo poo. Bit its just not fun fuu

Yeah. I struggle to think of any hollywood stars who enhanced a game with their appearance. I think it's one of the few good things about GTA is that they never use big stars for the main roles.

I think Keanu was good in cyberpunk, but a professional voice guy would have been as good if not better and wouldnt have been a huge expensive distraction.

I played the Red Alert 2 playstation demo psycho style, approx. 1000 hundred times and I cant stop saying "Huh? Incredible?" in a fake Einstein voice 25 years later.

leonard nimoy doing civ 4's tech tree narration definitely improved the game IMO.

also patrick stewart and sean bean in oblivion but mainly because they sound so out of place next to the five drunk voice actors whose level of effort literally includes one guy saying "can we do that take again?" in the one they actually used.

patrick steward is in game for like 20 seconds before he gets killed much like in an earlier hit crpg lands of lore where he is also a king who gets killed 20 seoncds after starting

i know the most likely thing is that the sound editor hosed up and took the wrong clip but i choose to believe that the guy hosed up the line so many times that that was the best take that they had.
