Apparently Disney are going to sidestep the issue altogether and use The Mandarin in the film instead. My brother was a big fan of the original 1970s 'The Hands of Shang-Chi Master of Kung Fu' comics and it actually took him several decades to put together a complete collection but he doesn't seem to be all that interested in the upcoming film.
