The fake stuff I can kinda get (those X CALLS ME AT 3AM videos still do numbers I think) it's the really awful cadence is what blows my mind. Like I said earlier there's a fairly popular true crime channel where the guy has the same obnoxious way of speaking (monotone dragging out the syllables of the last word of a sentence like an alien) and I wonder if Chills saw him and started mimicking him.

Kali Muscle is one of the most perplexing figures on Youtube. He's got 2.32 million subscribers, and he started as a fitness channel. His hook was that he was a former felon turned bodybuilder who would show "prison workouts" you could do without equipment and pre-workout/high calorie meals you could make with stuff from a prison commissary. But he dropped most of that a long time ago and now only posts the occasional workout video. Now, his content has gone all over the place. He'll do mukbangs, fitness community drama rants, he was streaming FPSs for a while, he's done prank videos, he did a trap album and some music videos, and now he seems to be pivoting again to test driving cars.

like i was like 15 when i first played 2 and i didn't appreciate how loving BLEAK that game is. 3 is really fun but its also a giant mess story/world building wise. yeah. its makes me want to play a remaster of 1/2/3 on ps4/5 someday.

shadowfall is even loving bleaker. though its ending is weirdly hopeful and like the dude says its a good place to end the series. like id be cool if they came back to it someday down the road after HZ trilogy but its fine whatever they do.

Yeah, Kali Muscle doesn't call himself natural (which in the fitness youtube community is as good as admitting you're juicing). Either way Boris is the only person with anything resembling a moral compass. Don't shoot civilians, radicalized militaries are bad, I have a machine gun and if you shoot that kid I cut you in half.

The stuff about fighting the militia/conscript miners in KZ2 is really, really uncomfortable when you consider its also the level where you get the boltgun which is just one of the many warcrimes guns in Killzone.

Friend of mine's former roomates were obsessed with a particular Truecrime Mukbang channel. Like they'd watch the videos turned way too loud for hours on end to the point it became a major point of contention and conflict. I tried watching one and it was raw pain. Eating obscene amounts of food in the nastiest slobbering way possible while prattling in a obviously put-on drawn out drawl about actual crimes in a meandering yet extremely certain way, that almost always came down to the Mukbanger managing to find reasons to blame the most vulnerable party in the particular incident. I could not bare it for more than a few minutes.

To discover that they were one of a whole community of channels just like that, almost carbon copies of each other was a Lovecraftian moment.

The Corridor Crew had an artist on for their VFX react video last week then they put out a video of him explaining NFTs. I already read a pretty long article on the things but I was curious to see if he added anything new or insightful to it. The first 30 seconds of the video were them talking about how he made millions of dollars selling his art as NFTs and I immediately closed the video. I'm sure this guy has a completely balanced and not a gently caress-you-got-mine perspective at all. Nosiree!

Good luck cashing in that (even more) fake currency into something you can actually use, fella.

Edit: A really good site http://cryptoart.wtf/ was made to show the environmental impact of each NFT transaction. Some art just to write it to the blockchain used up to 3 months (!!!!) of power useage as a single residence in the EU would. It's disgustingly wasteful. Unfortunately, because it's the internet, that site was used to harass artists instead of being used to show how crypto-anything is a bunch of garbage trash crap.

NFTs are built on the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum uses Proof of Work as its consensus mechanism. They've specifically designed their PoW algorithm to be optimal for GPUs, rather than the special-built ASICs that do the majority of bitcoin mining. So people with GPU miners are burning a large country's worth of electricity to play a complicated game of "guess the number" a trillion times a second in hopes they are the one to hit the lottery and mine the next block. Mining the next block is now all transactions are recorded, and you can basically track exactly how much electricity is being burned for each block/transaction.

Throwing more transactions (and more importantly, more money) on top of the Ethereum blockchain means that it is going to burn more electricity processing those transactions (because there is money in it).

That Beeple interview wasn't terrible, because Beeple knows it's a bubble and has sold all the ether he got in the auction for actual cash. Now, the aside that Corridor Crew did on why the environmental impact of NFTs is "a question for another day" is why I turned it off...

my posts are as bad the Current Releases review of Gone Girl

The best part is that NFTs do not even do the thing they supposedly do! They’re supposed to validate the authenticity of digital art, but all they are is a pointer to a third party archive site, and when that goes down your NFT is nothing!

Most people fight with their siblings, but the conflicts between Moses and his siblings are pretty epic. But we can learn a few things about forgiveness, hatred, love, holding grudges, and healing broken relationships from the stories of Moses, Rameses, Miriam, and Aaron.

Licensed therapist Jonathan Decker and filmmaker Alan Seawright talk about the cinematic masterpiece The Prince of Egypt, and how even though we're not fighting off plagues (well, we kinda are right now) or freeing an entire people from being enslaved, the relationships in this movie are very relatable and there's a lot we can learn from them. Plus, the music and animation are absolutely gorgeous, and the cast is phenomenal.

I guess that's possible, if the NFTs are on a different blockchain that uses a different consensus mechanism you could have an NFT that doesn't require more electricity than what we're utilizing posting here on the forum. I don't know if any NFTs that aren't on ethereum, though (and if there are any, it's unlikely there is much money flowing into them).

Lindsey Ellis is catching some flack today for a comment she made about Raya and the last dragon and comparing it to The Last airbender. Turns out saying equating an asian fantasy story with a show made by 2 white guys rubbed people the wrong way. This thread covers the main jist of why it was a dumb comment

https://twitter.com/junescribbles/status/1375442496092839945?s=20

Lindsey then followed that up with a long thread explaining her comments but in doing so she included this unfortunately worded tweet:
https://twitter.com/thelindsayellis/status/1375511216286625798?s=20

People reacted to the usage of "squint" in the context of talking about asian-inspired properties .
This seems to me like a situation where an apology would have avoided a lot of grief and just chalked it up as a learning lesson. Now she can learn that doubling down instead isn't a good idea instead! Her comments are certainly not well timed considering the recent tensions and rise in discrimination against asians.
