I just came here to post that AQI was 1390 in tianjin yesterday. It may have gotten that bad when I was there before (previous record topped out at 999), but that’s not good. They both pale in comparison to like 8000 lol while I miss living in China, hawaii is not terrible lol

South Taiwan we're pretty regularly above 100 in the winter which is where I put my limit for running outside and it makes me pretty down. I deadass can't imagine suffering through mainland pollution and not being miserable.

When I lived there, briefly Xintendi Tanzifang One of the skyscraper tours of that interests you. Jin Mao has an okay bar at the top. Pearl is meh. Financial center is meh. Shanghai tower at least has 45 mph elevators and is the tallest. Yu gardens is okay I guess. Too crowded. People's square is okay. Jing An is okay. I dunno, hang out on the bund at night? Shanghai has all the terrible elements of China without the 5000 years of history. It's just Chinese New York.
