Maybe, or just as likely she'd get run over.

I'm not gonna armchair quarterback for people in a very :wtf: situation, but in retrospect there's probably nothing good that will come of staying in a moving vehicle once the driver isn't in it.

I had some neighbors leave bags of that in their yard and then by fall they had some rocks that they just... never moved. Eventually the paper rotted away in the rain and they're still there. No, I have no idea why, either.

That really is a thing, Sakrete even sells a bag mix specifically for that use called Rip-Rap.

I doubt they'd recommend using regular bags like that though.

It’s per thousand. A non-round number of workers were present.

The demolition crew had a 100% death rate on the job, that's what you get for hiring non-union and not following osha regulations. I heard they didn't even have the pepper permits or insurance!

The article doesn't go into any detail so I wonder whether those are deaths from direct workplace incidents or whether they also include deaths caused by the environment. Malaria killed tens of thousands during the construction of the Panama Canal.

Also wonder whether the graph is only including the third attempt at building the Panama Canal or the previous two failed attempts as well.

Panama Canal was mostly yellow fever. It's what defeated the French (along with funding fraud...) and would also have defeated the US effort, until the blockhead doctors of the time listened to Dr. William Gorgas and started treating the area to eliminate mosquitoes instead of blaming 'miasma'.
