AlI can think about with this Mark Trail plot is that interview with Mads Mikkelsen after he was in that Rihanna music video, and before he got the offer he didn't know who she was. He asked his kids and they're like if you don't take this role we'll disown you or something.

Alone, she fights.
So shortly after Rudy outing someone as a metaphorical minority (and it being portrayed as a good thing), we're about to having someone out R.L. for miscegenation in a world that frowns at it (I guess? I can't keep straight what inane metaphor is which) and it's probably going to be portrayed as a "haha, gotcha" thing. Maybe it's unfair to assume the worst when I haven't seen the next few strips yet, but it's incredible how little Holbrook thinks about the implications of his comic.

This is utterly fascinating. They're brazenly shifting to "we need to appeal to even older morons" before our very eyes, and found a way to poo poo on the long-standing Character Who Is Right in the same go. Always did think it was odd having a lawyer in that position.
Given that's 2021, Ed is actually a Gen Xer (and Dustin is a Zoomer), so he's too young to appeal to Boomers, so they had to bring in a Boomer.

same. I think it's because of the twee pretense of wanting to do a "remember when?" segment with a beloved cast, wanting to play to your sense of nostalgia while having 0 actual appeal. i don't care enough about these boring rear end characters NOW, i definitely don't care about the same mape boring hijinks they got up to in [year Z&R hope will trigger a fond feeling in a reader]
