It's what the midwest looked like in prehistory before the glaciers made most of it flat. There are even cool endangered ancient snails

Its ancientness kind of reminds me of parts of the Appalachians. Geological variance in this country is really stunning sometimes. I love driving across the Big Horn in Wyoming and seeing the roadside labels for the different rock strata. I can't wait to start road tripping again.
