Has anyone played enough Evil Genius 2 to say if you liked the first one (one of my favorite games of all time) that you'll enjoy it? I'm basically just hoping for more of the same.

The main complaint of the game (from reviewers) seems to be that it doesn't change enough about the original to be worthy of a sequel. Considering that's pretty much exactly what I wanted this is definitely a plus. I'm only an hour in but it feels great so far. GMG has it for -23% if that helps make the decision easier

Are there no videogames anymore or does that Steam calendar miss a lot of stuff Or maybe EGS locked everything up

I have a Fanatical code for Evil Genius 2 as well but it's not useful to me. Brings the total discount up to like 25% 9NJQYW8TTqB1cFhRSx

Nice, i just wanted better graphics and more henchmen to recruit, treasures to steal, tech to research and doomsday weapons to blackmail the world with. Hopefully the discounts will last until Thursday when i get paid again.

LA Noire rules, I'm kind of bummed I didn't play it for the decade it's been out, but it's weird that they labeled the Make Cole Scream Nonsense At A Suspect button "Doubt"

I was never good at the interrogation part though, so I'm pretty sure I sent a few people to the gas chamber that were innocent. Also post war LA is a great setting for sleezy crime stories.

To prove I was lying you’d have to have [specific piece of evidence] and you don’t have that!”

Ghostlight posted:When they initially shot all the dialogue the options were labelled according to Cole's interview strategy and 'Doubt' was 'Force' - as in, try to force a confession - which is why he always goes straight to 110% on it. Yep, exactly- Truth and Doubt were written and acted as the player explicitly saying that they thought charm or intimidation would be more useful at that juncture, but players couldn't consistently guess which one the game wanted until they changed from charm/force to truth/doubt. (Speaking from my own experience I loved that game, but I could never loving tell. I was pretty good about Lie, but if I didn't have explicit evidence and the NPC wasn't doing some kind of ridiculous gurning, I just threw a dart.) Unrelated to Cole Phelps: Bipolar Detective, has anyone tried the Bloodhound thingie for theHunter? I'm reading lots of comments that it's really awkward to control and only follows blood trails, which makes me think it's a fun idea with lackluster execution.

Short version not super useful if you've played enough to not need to track wounded animals often but it's only 3-4 dollars and having a dog is just nice. Edit: Also there is some kind of dog-related intermittent crash bug but that will probably be fixed. Hub Cat fucked around with this message at 08:58 on Mar 31, 2021 |

I got Control from the Humble Monthly, but it's just the base game, not Ultimate. Is the Season Pass the only difference? And is it worth it?

The Control DLC adds about 4 hours of story content and some replayable game modes. How worth it that is to you will depend on how much you like the game to begin with, so you should just start there before deciding to get the DLC. It's all intended to be post-game content anyway.

The Joe Man posted:Well, half of it is. The other half is integrated into the main game area (it's an entire extra floor based on Alan Wake) and is meant to be tackled mid-game. I'd start with everything included off the bat. Also, the total length of both DLCs is waaay longer than 4hrs. I don't really think that's true, given that the DLC storyline follows up on the loose threads concerning the origin of the Hiss and ends with what is essentially a teaser for Alan Wake 2. Each of the new areas took me about 2 hours to clear, then a couple more for the completionist stuff. There's no reason you can't start Control and assess how much you're enjoying it before buying the season pass.

The control season pass is on sale for 6 bucks and change on Humble Store right now, so I’d say if you like control you may as well.
